Warrenton is a town in and the county seat of Fauquier County, Virginia in the United States. The population was 9,611 at the 2010 census, up from 6,670 at the 2000 census. The estimated population in 2019 was 10,027. It is at the junction of U.S. Route 15, U.S. Route 17, U.S. Route 29, and U.S. Route 211. The town is in the Piedmont region of Virginia, just east of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The well-known Airlie Conference Center is 3 miles (5 km) north of Warrenton, and the historic Vint Hill Farms military facility is 9 miles (14 km) east. Fauquier Hospital is located in the town. Surrounded by Virginia wine and horse country, Warrenton is a popular destination outside Washington, D.C.

Currently it is a 1,287.9-acre (521.2 ha) historic district that includes a manor home and farm. A date of significance for the site is 1776. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

It was built about 1850, and is a temple-form structure with shallow gable roof, a two-story tetrastyle Greek Doric order portico and wooden hexagonal cupola. Associated with the courthouse is the sheriff's house and old jail. Dakota is a historic home located near Warrenton, Fauquier County, Virginia. The house was designed by architect William Lawrence Bottomley and built in 1928. It is a two-story, Colonial Revival style dwelling. It has brick facing over a masonry block core; a slate-shingled hipped roof; and a symmetrical five-bay facade with a centered entry with a classical surround. A one-story bedroom wing was added to the right of the house in 1948 and garage addition was added to the left of the house in 1948. Also on the property are the contributing original garage and a stable building. Dakota is located near the site of the former Horse Show Grounds outside of Warrenton.
Yorkshire House is a historic home located at Warrenton, Fauquier County, Virginia. It was built in 1938–1939, and is a two-story, 13 bay, brick dwelling in the Modern Movement style. It features a low-pitched slate roof, a horizontal emphasis, a curved corner with continuous steel windows, a large glass block window, an elliptical bay window with steel casements and a foliated, geometric, metal balustrade on the rear balcony. Also on the property are the contributing brick and- stucco garage, a banked stone pump house, and a frame storage shed.
The Hollow is an historic property and dwelling located near Markham, Fauquier County, Virginia, U.S. A part of the John Marshall's Leeds Manor Rural Historic District, it was the boyhood home of Chief Justice John Marshall, and includes the second-oldest dated home in the county. Both the property and the district are listed in the Virginia Landmarks Register (2003) and National Register of Historic Places (2004).

Hicksford–Emporia Historic District, also known as Emporia, is a national historic district located at Emporia, Virginia. The district includes 36 contributing buildings and 2 contributing objects in the Hicksford section of Emporia. In 1848, Hicksford was a stop on the Petersburg Railroad. In 1887, the neighboring towns of Hicksford and Belfield merged to form the town of Emporia. The district generally consists of late 19th century or early 20th century, when Hicksford–Emporia began to evolve from a small agricultural outpost to a large commercial and governmental center. Located at the heart of the district is the separately listed Greensville County Courthouse Complex. Other notable buildings include the Citizen's National Bank, the Widow's Son's Masonic Lodge (1905), First Presbyterian Church (1907-1908), Emporia Elementary School, Emporia Armory (mid-1930s), Greensville County Auditorium (1934), and Emporia Post Office (1938). The Old Merchants and Farmers Bank Building is also separately listed.
Paradise is a historic house at 158 Winchester Street in Warrenton, Virginia. The oldest portion of this two story timber-frame house was built c. 1758, and is believed to be the oldest building in Warrenton. The central block of the house is three bays, with a side passage plan. It is flanked on either side by two-story wood frame wings. The house exterior was extensively redecorated in 1870, adding a full-width porch and substantial Italianate and Folk Victorian woodwork.
