Long is the CEO and Executive Director of the Iowa Sports Foundation, the organization that runs the Iowa Games, the Senior Games, Adaptive Sports Iowa, Iowa Corporate Games and the Live Healthy Iowa challenge, as well as an analyst for the Big Ten Network.
Troy Davis is a former American college and professional football player who was a running back in the National Football League (NFL) and Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football for Iowa State University where he was a Heisman finalist. Davis twice earned All-American honors and was the first and one of only two NCAA Division I-A running backs to rush for over 2,000 yards in back-to-back seasons. In 2016, he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. He played professionally for the New Orleans Saints of the NFL, and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Edmonton Eskimos and Toronto Argonauts of the CFL, and was a member of the Eskimos' Grey Cup championship team in 2005.

Prior to his officiating career, he was a college football player at Upper Iowa University. Nemmers officiated at Super Bowl XXV, as well as several playoff games.

Roger Sherman was an American college football player, coach and lawyer. He played college football for the University of Michigan from 1890 to 1893 and coached the University of Iowa football team in 1894. In late 1895, he was implicated in a series of articles by Caspar Whitney alleging that the schools of the Western Conference had been corrupted by "professionalism" involving the payment of money to athletes for their services in playing football. Sherman practiced law in Chicago, Illinois, and served as a master of chancery of the Superior Court and president of the Chicago Bar Association and Illinois State Bar Association.
Walter Scott Kennedy was an American college football player and coach, college basketball coach, and newspaper publisher. He was an All-American quarterback for the University of Chicago and captain of the Chicago Maroons football teams in 1898 and 1899. Kennedy later moved to Albion, Michigan, where he was the publisher of the Albion Evening Recorder from 1904 to 1939. There he was also the head football coach at Albion College for three stints between 1904 and 1920 and school's head basketball coach from 1910 to 1913.
Brian Keith Jones is an American sports radio and television host and former American football linebacker. Jones played one year of college football at UCLA and then transferred to University of Texas at Austin (Texas); Jones was drafted in the eighth round of the 1991 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Raiders. Jones played NFL professional football for six seasons.
