William Hagerup (born December 1991) is a former college football punter for the Michigan Wolverines. He holds the single-season average punting yards record and was the Big Ten Punter of the Year in 2012.
He started for the varsity football team at Whitefish Bay High School at punter, placekicker and tight end as a junior and senior. He was an All-American selection by Sporting News , PrepStar and SuperPrep and played in the U.S. Army All-American Game. [1] Hagerup committed to Michigan on September 27, 2009. [2] Once he committed, he was projected to be the most likely Wolverine to be a true freshman starter, because starting punter Zoltan Mesko was graduating. [3] He signed his National Letter of Intent with Michigan on February 3, 2010. [4] He attended Michigan's spring football practice on March 23. [5] Upon graduating, he was considered to be the third best placekicker in the national high school class of 2010 by ESPN and Rivals.com and the fourth best punter by Scout.com. When Hagerup kicked a 72-yard punt for the 2010 Michigan team that stopped on the 3-yard-line against Purdue on November 13, 2010, it was the longest punt by a Wolverine since Monte Robbins' 82-yard punt on December 6, 1987, against Hawaii. [9] [10] Hagarup did not travel with the team due to a violation of team rules on for the Michigan–Ohio State football rivalry game on November 27 against Ohio State. [11] In 2010, although true freshman Hagerup placed fourth in the conference in overall punting average (43.6 yards/punt), [12] he led the conference in conference games punting average (46.0). [13]
He was suspended for the first four games of the season with the 2011 Michigan Wolverines football team. [14] In the October 15, 2011 Michigan–Michigan State football rivalry game against Michigan State, he had four of his seven punts downed inside the 20-yard line (10, 5, 5, 15). [15] [16]
He was the 2012 Big Ten Punter of the Year and the First Team All-Conference selection (media) for the 2012 Wolverines. [17] That year, he led the conference in overall punting average (45.0). [18] Hagerup did not attend the 2013 Outback Bowl due to a violation of team rules. [19] Hagerup's 45.03 yards per punt average surpassed Mesko's school single-season record of 44.46 yards per punt. On May 7, 2013, his suspension from the team was lifted although he was designated to sit out the 2013 season. [21] He was a 2014 All-Big Ten honorable mention selection by the coaches. [22] [23]
He is the brother of former Indiana Hoosiers punter, Chris Hagerup, who was a redshirt junior during Will's true freshman season. [24] Chris, who was three classes ahead of Will at Whitefish Bay High School, earned a college football scholarship in high school, inspiring Will. [25] Hagerup also performs as a rhythm guitarist. The 2010 Michigan Wolverines football team represented the University of Michigan in the 2010 NCAA Division I FBS football season. Michigan played its home games at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, Michigan and competed in the Big Ten Conference. The season was the first since the renovation of Michigan Stadium, begun in 2007, was completed. The Wolverines were led by third-year head coach Rich Rodriguez. After its week 10 win against Illinois, Michigan became bowl eligible for the first time since 2007, and later accepted a bid to play in the Gator Bowl against Mississippi State on January 1, 2011, losing 52–14. The Wolverines finished the season sixth out of 120 Division I FBS teams in total offense, 110th in total defense and 112th in passing defense. Michigan finished with an overall record of 7–6, 3–5 in Big Ten play. After the season, head coach Rich Rodriguez and his staff were dismissed on January 5, 2011.
Roy Randolph Roundtree is a former American football wide receiver and current assistant coach for McNeese Cowboys football. He was a 2013 preseason member of the Cincinnati Bengals and played college football for the Michigan Wolverines football team where he spent his redshirt senior season with the 2012 team. In 2012, he was an All-Big Ten honorable mention selection. He was a 2011 Fred Biletnikoff Award preseason watchlist honoree. He was a Fred Biletnikoff Award preseason watchlist honoree in 2010, and set Michigan's single-game receiving record with nine catches for 246 yards against Illinois that November. Roundtree was the team's leading receiver in both the 2009 and 2010 seasons. He finished first in the Big Ten Conference in receiving yards in 2010 for Conference games, and was a second team All Conference selection. While in high school, he was named the 2007 Ohio Division II Offensive Player of the Year.

Zakarie Tyler Irvin is an American professional basketball player for the Grand Rapids Gold of the NBA G League. He played college basketball for the Michigan Wolverines. He earned the 2013 Indiana Mr. Basketball and Indiana Boys Basketball Gatorade Player of the Year while playing for Hamilton Southeastern High School. At Michigan, he was twice recognized as Big Ten Conference Freshman of the Week for the 2013–14 team, which won the 2013–14 Big Ten Conference regular-season championship outright. He was a 2015–16 Big Ten Conference men's basketball season All-Big Ten honorable mention honoree by the coaches and the media as well as a 2016 Big Ten Conference men's basketball tournament All-Tournament Team selection as a junior. Michael Joseph "Spike" Albrecht is a former college basketball player who completed his collegiate eligibility as a redshirt fifth year graduate transfer student for the 2016–17 Purdue Boilermakers team. Albrecht played high school basketball in his hometown of Crown Point, Indiana. He played his undergraduate college career for the Michigan Wolverines. He is most well known for his 17-point first half performance off the bench for the 2012–13 Wolverines in the championship game of the 2013 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament. He won Big Ten Conference regular season championships with the 2013–14 Wolverines and 2016–17 Boilermakers.

In their ninth and final year under head coach Jim Harbaugh, the Wolverines compiled an undefeated 15–0 record, outscored opponents by a total of 538 to 156, and won their third consecutive Big Ten championship with a 26–0 victory over Iowa in the Big Ten Championship Game. They defeated No. 4 Alabama, 27–20 in overtime, in the 2024 Rose Bowl. They then defeated No. 2 Washington, 34–13, in the 2024 College Football Playoff National Championship to claim their first CFP title and 12th national championship in program history, their first since 1997, and their first consensus national championship since 1948. With their win against Maryland on November 18, the Wolverines became the first program in college football history to reach 1,000 wins.
