Örö is a large island in the Archipelago Sea in Finland. [1] It is part of the municipality of Kimitoön. The island remained a military area until 2015, when it became part of the Archipelago National Park and became available to tourists.

By some definitions it contains the largest archipelago in the world by the number of islands, although many of the islands are very small and tightly clustered.

The Eurasian lynx is a permanent resident of Kurjenrahka, but brown bears and gray wolves have also been observed and are known to reside in areas within or close to the park. Marked trails in the general area extend to over 300 km.

The Anson Archipelago was a designation for a widely scattered group of purported islands in the Western North Pacific Ocean between Japan and Hawaii. The group was supposed to include Wake Island and Marcus Island, as well as many phantom islands such as Los Jardines, Ganges Island, Rica de Oro, and Rica de Plata. The archipelago was named after George Anson, who seized Spanish navigational charts of these waters during his voyage around the world.
