/Film, also spelled Slashfilm, is a blog that covers movie news, reviews, interviews, and trailers. It was founded by Peter Sciretta in August 2005. The site's reviews appear on Rotten Tomatoes, and as of 2024, two of its leading film critics are Chris Evangelista and filmmaker B.J. Colangelo. [1]

Podcasts

Six podcasts have run on the site. The /Filmcast, hosted by David Chen, Devindra Hardawar, and Jeff Cannata airs weekly and focuses on a discussion of a recently released film, along with current film news and other related entertainment topics (Adam Quigley co-hosted the show with Chen and Hardawar from 2008 to 2013). In July 2021, the show became independent from the site and was rebranded The Filmcast. [2]

The Tobolowsky Files, hosted by Chen, features character actor Stephen Tobolowsky talking about his career, life and other topics. The JustifiedCast, also hosted by Chen, followed season 3 of the TV series Justified . A Cast of Kings is a podcast hosted by Chen and Joanna Robinson of Vanityfair.com in which they discuss and analyze each episode of Game of Thrones . The Ones Who Knock is Chen and Robinson's other podcast, where they dissect each episode of Breaking Bad . /Film Daily is hosted by Peter Sciretta and a rotating cast of /Film writers, where they discuss the days movie news.

On January 18, 2016, the site announced it was closing down.

Geekologie was a popular blog originally dedicated to reviewing gadgets and technology. Geekologie was founded on April 2, 2006, and the first post appeared on April 4, 2006. On October 22, 2012, Time recognized Geekologie as one of the "25 Best Blogs of 2012".

Giovanni Bertone "John" Campea, is a Canadian YouTuber, film critic, media critic, director, writer, producer, and editor. Campea founded and ran the film website, The Movie Blog from June 2003 to December 2009. He then went on to become the editor-in-chief of AMC Movie News from September 2008 to June 2015. Shortly after that he was hired by Complex to run Collider Movie Talk beginning in July 2015. During his time there, he served as senior producer, host and showrunner of all of the programs. He resigned twice, once in January 2016, but returned in September of that year, and left permanently in June 2017. After he resigned, he began to release videos on his YouTube channel. As of December 2022, he has over 316,000 subscribers and over 265,000,000 total views.

Cake Wrecks is an entertainment website featuring user-submitted photographs of professionally made cakes that are unintentionally humorous or strange in appearance. Founded in May 2008, inspiration for the confectionery-themed photoblog began when site-master Jen Yates received an e-mail that included a photo of a sheet cake, decorated with a customer's verbatim request: "best wishes suzanne, under neat that, we will miss you".

The Black Weblog Awards started in 2005 with 11 categories, and grew to include 36 categories. Former Black Weblog Award winners include blogger and radio host B. Scott, comedian and YouTube personality Elon James White, comedian, television host, and New York Times best-selling author Baratunde Thurston, LGBT activist and media personality Keith Boykin, hip-hop artists D-Nice and Kanye West, musician and DJ Questlove, and model/media personality Tyra Banks. Other Black Weblog Award winners have also appeared in traditional media outlets, such as The Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, and NPR.
