The 164th Quartermaster Group is a Major Subordinate Command (MSC) of the 4th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) (ESC) and one of only three of its kind in the United States Army Reserve. The unit manages a peacetime downtrace that has command and control of almost 600 Army Reservists located throughout Oklahoma and Texas, and its Soldiers support diverse missions that are logistical in nature. The units of the 164th Quartermaster Group have served in Operations Joint Forge in Bosnia, Joint Endeavor in Kosovo, Desert Storm in Iraq, Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan, and Iraqi Freedom in Iraq. Additionally, most of the subordinate units and over 90% of the Soldiers in the Group have mobilized and deployed in support of all ONE, OEF, OIF, Global War on Terrorism missions since 2002. [1]
The 164th Quartermaster Group mission is to plan, control and supervise the supply of bulk petroleum products and water to designated units in a designated area. It also coordinates theater petroleum and water distribution systems. Distributes bulk petroleum to US Army, Navy, Air Force, and other supported activities within theater. Provides command and control for two to five battalions (petroleum pipeline and terminal operating, petroleum supply, transportation, or water supply) and supervises other assigned or attached units. The 164th Quartermaster Group activated on September 16, 2006. Its structure came from the 172nd Corps Support Group which deactivated in September 2006 under the command of COL Christopher T. Serpa.
Since its activation, the 164th Quartermaster Group has participated in the Quartermaster Liquid Logistics Exercise (QLLEX) and has performed duty under that exercise at Fort Devens, MA and at Yakima Training Center, WA.
In May 2007 the 164th mobilized and deployed a detachment to Kuwait and Afghanistan in support of OIF. In November 2007 they deployed additional personnel to Kuwait to join the detachment already on ground.
In 2009 the 164th QM GRP deployed two more detachments to Iraq. The first deployed in February 2009 and the second in April 2009 resulting in deployment of more than 50 personnel.

The United States Army Quartermaster Corps, formerly the Quartermaster Department, is a sustainment, formerly combat service support (CSS), branch of the United States Army. It is also one of three U.S. Army logistics branches, the others being the Transportation Corps and the Ordnance Corps.
The 49th Quartermaster Group was a United States Army Forces Command (FORSCOM) combat service support unit stationed at Fort Lee, Virginia. The group motto was "Fueling the Force." Reactivated in 1993, the 49th held an inactivation ceremony at Fort Lee on 14 September 2012. Its subordinate 530th Support Battalion and 108th Quartermaster Company were reassigned to a brigade headquarters to await their own inactivation in September 2013. According to an article in the post newspaper, "The 54th and 111th, the Army's only active duty mortuary affairs units, are not likely to be inactivated but may be transferred. If any of the units remain at Fort Lee, they may be realigned under battalions either at Fort Eustis, home of the 7th Sustainment Brigade, or Fort Bragg, N.C., home of the XVIII Airborne Corps, the 49th's current higher headquarters."
4th Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion is a fast and mobilized armored terrestrial reconnaissance battalion of the United States Marine Corps reserve. Their primary weapon system is the LAV-25 and they are part of the 4th Marine Division and Marine Forces Reserve. The unit headquarters is at Camp Pendleton, California, but other units in the battalion are located throughout the United States. 4th LAR Bn is the largest combat battalion in the Marine Corps, with 7 companies.

The 43rd Sustainment Brigade was re-designated the 4th Infantry Division Sustainment Brigade, 4th Infantry Division effective 9 July 2015. a U.S. Army Forces Command (FORSCOM) combat service support unit stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado. The Brigade motto is "Provide with Pride". The Brigade call sign is "Rough Riders". The 43rd Sustainment Brigade has deployed overseas to Somalia, Cuba, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Afghanistan. On 9 July 2015 the 43rd Sustainment Brigade was inactivated. Subordinate units were reassigned to the 4th Infantry Division Sustainment Brigade.
528th Support Battalion "The 528th Support Battalion's mission is to provide rapidly deployable CSS and HSS to ARSOF as directed. The 528th Support Battalion's strengths lie in its capability to support ARSOF-unique and low-density weapons and vehicles. The 528th complements [organic] 22 ARSOF CSS, HSS, and signal units. The support battalion consists of a headquarters and main support company (HMSC), three forward support companies and may receive augmentation from Theater Army As part of Army Special Operations Command the unit, along with the 112th Signal Battalion, is tasked to provide full logistical support to Army Special Operations Forces forming along with several other units what was known as Special Operations Support Command, later reorganized as the 528th Sustainment Brigade (A). The Brigade Troops Battalion includes a wide variety of military occupation specialists: riggers, drivers, medics, mechanics, engineers, fuelers, cooks, etc.
The 68th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion is a U.S. Army support battalion stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado. The Battalion motto is "Wheels of Distinction". The 68th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion's current call sign is "Stagecoach". The 68th CSSB has deployed overseas to India, Burma, Somalia, Cuba, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
13th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion is a modular, corps-level support organization Battalion responsible for providing multifunctional logistics support to maneuver, fires, and effects organizations as well as multifunctional logistics assistance to other support organizations. The 13th CSSB was formerly stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia, and was a subordinate unit of the 3rd Sustainment Brigade. The battalion was deactivated in October 2011 at Ft Benning and reflagged from the former 80th Ordnance Battalion at Joint Base Lewis/McChord. The battalion is now subordinate to the 593rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command.
The 59th Quartermaster Company is a bulk petroleum company designed to provide semi-portable storage for 2.5 million US gallons (9,500 m3) of fuel and to provide distribution of fuel to military units within a specified geographic area while deployed overseas. Its secondary mission is to provide an armed military escort to military cargo and civilian trucks during overseas contingency operations. It is a U.S. Army Forces Command combat service support unit stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado under the command of the 68th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion. The 59th has deployed overseas to Algeria, Italy, France, Germany, Korea, Vietnam, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Afghanistan. The 59th is the only bulk petroleum company in the Regular Army; all sister units are part of the Army Reserve as of 2011.
The 101st Division Sustainment Brigade is a sustainment brigade of the United States Army based at Fort Campbell providing logistical support to the 101st Airborne Division. Formerly a separate unit under the command of United States Army Forces Command, it became a division sustainment brigade in 2015 and adopted the wear of the division SSI.
The 4th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) is a subordinate command of 377th Theater Sustainment Command. The 4th ESC is located in San Antonio, Texas. The CSSB may support Army special operations forces as part of their area support task. The 142nd DSSB is currently stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas, and is a subordinate unit of the 1st Armored Division Sustainment Brigade.
