The 2023 Metro FM Music Awards is the 17th annual ceremony of the Metro FM Music Awards, the ceremony was sponsored by Metro FM and premiered live on SABC1 on 6 May 2023 at Mbombela Stadium in Mbombela, Mpumalanga, South Africa. [1]

Ntokozo Mdluli, known professionally as K.O, is a South African rapper. He began his career as a member of Teargas, a hip hop group which released its debut album titled K'shubile K'bovu (2006), followed by Wafa Wafa (2008), Dark or Blue (2009) and last album Num8er Num8er (2012).

Kiernan Jarryd Forbes (28 January 1988 – 10 February 2023), known professionally as AKA, was a South African rapper, record producer, and businessman. Born in Cape Town and raised in Johannesburg, Forbes gained recognition after releasing his single "Victory Lap" from his debut studio album, Altar Ego (2011). He was one of the most popular South African musicians of his era and the best-selling South African hip hop artist of all-time, also regarded by many as one of the greatest South African rappers of all time.

Mthembeni Ndeu, professionally known by his stage name Emtee is a South African rapper. He was born and grew up in Rockville, Soweto, where he was involved in talent shows. His career began at the age of 17, and his debut hit single, "Roll Up" was released in 2015. Emtee was signed to Ambitiouz Entertainment, released his debut album Avery (2015), which was commercially successful and was eventually certified platinum by Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA).

The 15th installment of the annual Metro FM Music Awards is an award ceremony that celebrates excellence in the South African music industry by honouring musicians who did exceedingly well in their field throughout 2015. The show first aired on SABC 1 on February 27, 2016.

The South African Music Awards are the Recording Industry of South Africa's music industry awards, established in 1995. The ceremony is held in late-April or May every year, with the judging process starting in November of the previous year. The nominations are typically announced at the end of March. The winners receive a gold-plated statuette called a SAMA.

Jabulani Hadebe, known professionally as Sjava, is a South African singer, rapper, and actor. He began his acting career in 2005, starring in several drama series and films including uGugu no Andile (2009). He then rose to prominence on the drama series Zone 14, where he starred for three consecutive seasons, Isibaya and the second season of eHostela. Sjava ventured into the music industry and signed to record label Ambitiouz Entertainment. He gained mainstream popularity after he was featured on Miss Pru's acclaimed song "Ameni" in 2015.

South African hip hop artist and record producer AKA has released four studio albums, two collaborative albums with Anatii as well as Costa Titch respectively, one extended play (EP), 42 singles and 23 music videos. AKA's music has been released on record labels Sony Music Entertainment Africa, Vth Season and Beam Group.

Isibuko is a third studio album by South African singer Sjava, released through 1020 Cartel on January 27, 2023. Production was handled by his frequent producer Ruff. The album also features artists such as Emtee, Saudi, Anzo, Sampa the Great, Lolli Native, Delayde, Nontokozo Mkhize, Vernotile, Dumakahle, Q Twins, Umzulu Phaqa, Shwi and Mzukulu.

<i>Mass Country</i> 2023 studio album by AKA

Mass Country, is the fourth studio album by South African rapper AKA. It was released posthumously by Sony Music Entertainment Africa and Vth A on 24 February 2023. It was preceded by four singles "Lemons (Lemonade)", "Prada", "Paradise", and "Company", with guest appearances from Nasty C, KDDO, Thato Saul, Khuli Chana, Blxckie, Gyakie, Nadia Nakai, Sjava and others.

Musa Appreciate Makamu, professionally known as Musa Keys, is a South African record producer born in Giyani and raised in Flora Park, Polokwane. Makamu is known for his 2021 single "Vula Mlomo" which was certified double platinum by the Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA).

The 29th Annual South African Music Awards is the 29th ceremony of the South African Music Awards. The ceremony was aired live on SABC 1 on November 18, 2023 hosted by DJ Sabby and Nomalanga Shozi at SunBet Arena.

The 2024 Metro FM Music Awards is the 18th annual ceremony of the Metro FM Music Awards, the ceremony will be aired live on SABC1 and host by ProVerb and LootLove on April 27, 2024 at Mbombela Stadium in Mbombela, Mpumalanga, South Africa.
