The 17th National Congress of Kuomintang (Chinese :中國國民黨第十七次全國代表大会) was the seventeenth national congress of Kuomintang, held on 19–20 August 2005 at Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in Taipei, Taiwan. [1]

Chinese is a group of related, but in many cases not mutually intelligible, language varieties, forming the Sinitic branch of the Sino-Tibetan language family. Chinese is spoken by the Han majority and many minority ethnic groups in China. About 1.2 billion people speak some form of Chinese as their first language.

Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall (Taipei) A memorial hall in Taipei

The National Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall is located in Xinyi District, Taipei, Taiwan. It is a memorial to the Republic of China's National Father, Dr. Sun Yat-sen, and was completed in 1972. The total building area covers 29,464 square metres in an open space of 115,000 square metres. It contains displays of Sun's life and the revolution he led, and is also a multi-purpose social, educational and cultural center for the public.

The National People's Congress Foreign Affairs Committee is one of nine special committees of the National People's Congress, the national legislature of the People's Republic of China. The special committee was created during the first session of the 6th National People's Congress in June 1983, and has existed for every National People's Congress since.

The 6th National Congress of Kuomintang was held by Wang Jingwei and his followers from the Kuomintang in exile after he defected from Chiang Kai-shek to Japan, in Japanese-occupied Shanghai, on 28 August 1939. As he was a collaborator, this congress was not considered legitimate after the war. A "central political conference" was held in Nanjing later on 20 March 1940, establishing his new regime.
