The 1957 Northern Colorado Bears baseball team represented Colorado State College in the 1957 NCAA University Division baseball season. The Bears played their home games at Jackson Field. The team was coached by Pete Butler in his 15th year at Northern Colorado.
The Bears won the District VII playoff to advance to the College World Series, where they were defeated by the Arizona Wildcats.

The University of Northern Colorado (UNC) is a public university in Greeley, Colorado. The university was founded in 1889 as the State Normal School of Colorado and has a long history in teacher education. The institution has officially changed its name three times, first to Colorado State College of Education, at Greeley on February 16, 1935, Colorado State College on February 11, 1957, and its current form since May 1, 1970. Approximately 10,000 students are enrolled in six colleges. Extended campus locations are in Loveland, Denver/Aurora, and Colorado Springs. UNC's 19 athletic teams compete in NCAA Division I as members of the Big Sky Conference.
The Denver Zephyrs were a Minor League Baseball team based in Denver, Colorado, United States. They were a Triple-A team that played in the American Association from 1955 to 1962, the Pacific Coast League from 1963 to 1968, and the American Association again from 1969 to 1992. They played their home games at Mile High Stadium.
The 1948 NCAA baseball tournament was the second NCAA-sanctioned baseball tournament that determined a national champion. The tournament was held as the conclusion of the 1948 NCAA baseball season. The 1948 College World Series was played at Hyames Field on the campus of Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan from June 25 to 26. The tournament champion was Southern California coached by Sam Barry and Rod Dedeaux. It was the Trojans' first of 12 championships through the 2022 season.
Michael Anderson is an American baseball coach and former outfielder, who is the current head baseball coach of the Northern Colorado Bears. He played college baseball at Northern Colorado from 1983 to 1986. He played in Minor League Baseball (MiLB) for 4 seasons from 1986 to 1989. He served as the head coach of the Nebraska Cornhuskers (2003–2011).

The tournament concluded with eight teams competing in the College World Series, a double-elimination tournament in its eleventh year. Eight regional districts sent representatives to the College World Series with preliminary rounds within each district serving to determine each representative. These events would later become known as regionals. Each district had its own format for selecting teams, resulting in 23 teams participating in the tournament at the conclusion of their regular season, and in some cases, after a conference tournament. The College World Series was held in Omaha, NE from June 9 to June 14. The eleventh tournament's champion was California, coached by George Wolfman. The Most Outstanding Player was Cal Emery of Penn State.
The Northern Colorado Bears are the athletic teams representing the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado in intercollegiate athletics. The university sponsors seventeen teams including men and women's basketball, cross country, golf, tennis, and track and field; women's-only soccer, softball, swimming and diving, and volleyball; and men's-only baseball, football, and wrestling. The Bears compete in NCAA Division I, with the football team competing at the FCS level, and most teams are members of the Big Sky Conference. Three Northern Colorado teams have separate affiliations in sports that the Big Sky does not sponsor. The baseball team competes in the Summit League, the women's swimming and diving team is an affiliate member of the Western Athletic Conference, and the wrestling team is a member of the Big 12 Conference.
William Conrad Heiss Jr. was an American football player and coach of multiple sports. He served as the head football coach at Adams State College (1948–1949), St. Cloud State University (1950), Colorado College (1951–1953), and the University of Northern Colorado (1963–1965), compiling a career college football record of 40–34–5. Heiss was also the head basketball coach at Colorado College for one season in 1951–52, tallying a mark of 2–14, and the head baseball coach at the University of Denver from 1955 to 1959, amassing a record of 70–61–1. His 1957 baseball team won the Skyline Conference championship. Heiss played college football at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign in the mid-1940s.

Carl Keiji Iwasaki was an American baseball coach and catcher. He played college baseball at Northern Colorado for coach Tom Petroff from 1981 to 1984. He then served as the head of the Austin Kangaroos (2005–2010) and the Northern Colorado Bears (2011–2022).
Jackson Field is a baseball venue in Greeley, Colorado, United States. It is home to the Northern Colorado Bears baseball team of the NCAA Division I Summit League. The facility has a capacity of 1,500 spectators. The field was dedicated in 1952 in honor of Charles N. Jackson, a UNC trustee who helped purchase the land in 1927.
