Football Club Shakhtar Donetsk is a Ukrainian professional football club from the city of Donetsk. In 2014, due to the War in Donbas, the club was forced to move to Lviv, and had played matches in Lviv (2014–2016) and in Kharkiv (2017–2020) whilst having its office headquarters and training facilities in Kyiv. In May 2020, Shakhtar started to play home matches at NSC Olimpiyskyi in Kyiv.
Football Club Dynamo Kyiv is a Ukrainian professional football club based in Kyiv. Founded in 1927 as a Kyivan football team of republican branch of the bigger Soviet Dynamo Sports Society, the club as a separate business entity was officially formed only in 1989 and currently plays in the Ukrainian Premier League, and has never been relegated to a lower division. Football Club Desna Chernihiv is a Ukrainian football club based in Chernihiv. The original name of the club was "Avanhard" during its first year of existence as part of a republican Avanhard sports society. Between 1961 and 1970 the club was called Desna. In 1972 it was replaced with SC Chernihiv that played in Chernihiv for the next couple of years. In 1977 Desna was revived now in place of the amateur club "FC Khimik Chernihiv" that won regional competitions.

The Supreme Leagues consists out of four regional groups and the First have eight. In 2020 there was introduced the Elite League. The competition's oldest age group has the teenagers who are no older than 17 years old and the youngest - the teenagers no older than 14.

Founded in the 1970s, it competed only at republican level competitions in Ukraine. Before the Chernobyl disaster the team was playing at a small stadium in Prypiat. In 1986 for it there was built new home ground the Avanhard Stadium, at which the club never had a chance to play.

The decision on a schedule of competitions for clubs from the First and Second League in composition will be confirmed by the Central Council of the Professional Football League of Ukraine and the competition will start on 20 July 2016.
