The 1963 New Zealand Golf Circuit was the inaugural season of the New Zealand Golf Circuit, the main professional golf tour in New Zealand since it was established in 1963.
The initial circuit was organised by the New Zealand Golf Association and was held over a five-week period from late August to late September. It consisted of 7 tournaments, 6 sponsored events followed by the New Zealand Open. Two events were held mid-week. [1] There was additional prize money of £300 for the leading players in a points based system, based on performances over the whole series. 10 points were given to the winner, down to 1 for 10th place. Sir Robert James Charles is a New Zealand professional golfer who won the 1963 Open Championship, the first left-handed player to win a major championship. He won the 1954 New Zealand Open as an 18-year-old amateur and made the cut in the same event in 2007, at the age of 71. His achievements over that period, in which he won 80 tournaments, rank him as one of the most successful New Zealand golfers of all time. He is, along with Michael Campbell, one of only two New Zealanders to win a men's major golf championship.
Anthony Jacklin CBE is an English golfer. He was the most successful British player of his generation, winning two major championships, the 1969 Open Championship and the 1970 U.S. Open. He was also Ryder Cup captain from 1983 to 1989; Europe winning two and tying another of these four events.
The New Zealand Open is the premier men's golf tournament in New Zealand. It has been a regular fixture on the PGA Tour of Australasia tournament schedule since the 1970s. The 2019 event was the 100th edition of the tournament. Since 2014 it has been held as a pro-am in February or March.

The Wills Classic was a series of golf tournaments held in Australia and New Zealand from 1960 to 1964. The first event in 1960 was contested by four players over nine different courses between 17 September and 2 October; the winner determined by the aggregate score. Total prize money was A£5,100. The players were Stan Leonard, Gary Player, Mike Souchak and Peter Thomson. In 1961 the event became a 72-hole tournament with prize money of A£3,000. From 1963 the Australian tournament was replaced by the Wills Masters and the Classic event was moved to New Zealand. The New Zealand tournaments were part of the New Zealand Golf Circuit and had prize money of NZ£2,000. The sponsor was W.D. & H.O. Wills, a cigarette manufacturer.
The Air New Zealand Shell Open was a golf tournament held in New Zealand between 1975 and 1994. The event was the New Zealand Airlines Classic in 1975 and 1976 and the New Zealand Airlines Open in 1977. The Grange hosted the first and final editions of the event but Titirangi hosted the event the most, 14 times between 1977 and 1991. The only other courses to host the event were Russley (1976) and Wellington (1979).
The Garden City Classic was a golf tournament held in New Zealand from 1969 to 1975. The event was hosted by Russley Golf Club in Christchurch. Russley hosted the New Zealand Airlines Classic in 1976.
The Spalding Masters was a golf tournament held in New Zealand from 1968 to 1972. The event was generally hosted by Tauranga Golf Club in Tauranga, although the 1968 event was held at the nearby Mount Manganui Golf Club. The tournament was held in early January, although the 1972 event started on 30 December 1971.
The Forest Products Tournament was a golf tournament held in New Zealand from 1964 to 1966. The event was hosted by Tokoroa Golf Club in Tokoroa. The 1966 event resulted in a tie between Bob Charles and Tony Jacklin. The event was part of the New Zealand Golf Circuit.

The Roslyn Tournament was a golf tournament held in New Zealand in 1963. The event was played on the Balmacewen course at Otago Golf Club in Dunedin, New Zealand. The tournament was reduced to 54 holes by heavy rain on the final day. Barry Coxon won the event by 1 stroke from Bob Tuohy. The event was part of the New Zealand Golf Circuit.
Ross R. Newdick was a professional golfer from New Zealand. He had a successful amateur career winning the New Zealand Amateur Championship in 1960. He turned professional in 1963 and won the New Zealand PGA Championship and the Singapore Open in 1966.
