The 2004–05 UEFA Cup was the 34th edition of the UEFA Cup. The 1971 Asian Champion Club Tournament was the fourth edition of the annual Asian club football competition hosted by Asian Football Confederation. Eight clubs from eight countries competed in the tournament, with Jardine Hong Kong withdrawing before the draw. The tournament was held in Bangkok, Thailand from 21 March to 2 April; it was originally scheduled to be held in Kuwait, but the AFC moved the tournament as Kuwaiti immigration laws would have seen the delegation of Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv refused entry into the country.

The 2006 Thai Premier League had 12 teams. No clubs would be relegated as the league would be expanded to 16 teams for the 2007 season. Two teams promoted from the rival Pro League and two clubs from Thailand Division 1 League. The official name of the league at this time was Thailand Premier League.

The 2004-05 Thai Premier League had 10 teams. Two clubs would be relegated as the league would be expanded to 12 teams for the 2006 season.
