The men's 200 metres event at the 1982 European Athletics Indoor Championships was held on 6–7 March. [1] It was the first time that this event was held at the European Athletics Indoor Championships.

The 13th European Athletics Indoor Championships were held at Palasport di San Siro in Milan, a city in Italy, on 6 and 7 March 1982. It was the second time the championships were held in Milan after the 1978 edition.
