The America East Conference is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with NCAA Division I whose members are located in the Northeastern United States.
Jerold Taylor "Jay" Wright Jr. is an American former college basketball coach. He served as the head coach of Villanova University from 2001 until 2022. Wright led the Villanova Wildcats to six Big East Conference championships and 16 NCAA tournament appearances in 21 seasons as head coach. Under Wright, Villanova reached four Final Fours and won two national championships in 2016 and 2018.

The Albany Great Danes men's basketball team is the basketball team that represent the University at Albany, State University of New York in Albany, New York. The school's team currently competes in the America East Conference and plays its home games at SEFCU Arena. The team played in the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament in 2006, 2007, 2013, and 2014, 2015. They also made the CIT in 2016 and 2017, and are currently coached by Dwayne Killings.
The Stony Brook Seawolves are the athletic teams of Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, New York, United States. The school competes at the Division I level of the National Collegiate Athletic Association and joined the all-sports Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) on July 1, 2022 after having been a member of the CAA's technically separate football arm of CAA Football since 2013. The official colors of the Seawolves are red, grey, and blue.

The final was held at Patrick Gym on the campus of the University of Vermont, and was the first basketball game held in the state of Vermont to be nationally televised, airing on ESPN. Vermont gained its second consecutive conference tournament win and NCAA tournament berth with its win over Maine. Vermont was given the 15th seed in the West Regional of the NCAA Tournament and lost in the first round to Connecticut 70–53. Boston University gained a bid to the NIT and lost in the opening round to Rhode Island 80–52.

Vermont gained its first ever America East Championship and an automatic berth to the NCAA tournament with its win over Boston University. Vermont was given the 16th seed in the West Regional of the NCAA Tournament and lost in the first round to Arizona 80–51. Boston University gained a bid to the NIT and lost in the first round to St. John's 73–57.

Boston University gained its fourth overall America East Conference Championship and an automatic berth to the NCAA tournament with its win over Drexel. Boston University was given the 12th seed in the Midwest Regional of the NCAA Tournament and lost in the first round to Tulsa 81–52. Drexel University gained a bid to the NIT and lost in the first round to Bradley 66–53.

Only the top-8 schools made it to the 1989 tournament, therefore excluding both New Hampshire and Vermont. Siena College gained its only America East Conference Championship and an automatic berth to the NCAA tournament with its win over Boston University. Siena was given the 14th seed in the East Regional of the NCAA Tournament and lost in the second round to Minnesota 80–67, after upsetting #3 Stanford 80–78.

Northeastern was given the 14th seed in the East Regional of the NCAA Tournament and lost in the first round to Purdue 104–95. Niagara University gained a bid to the NIT and lost in the second round to La Salle 89–81, after beating Seton Hall 74–65.

The 1980 ECAC North men's basketball tournament was hosted by the higher seeds in head-to-head matchups. It was the inaugural tournament ever held for the ECAC North. The final was held at The Hart Center on the campus at the College of Holy Cross. Holy Cross gained their first and only America East Conference Championship in the first ever tournament as well as an automatic berth to the NCAA tournament with its win over Boston University. Holy Cross was given the 11th seed in the East Regional of the NCAA Tournament and lost in the first round to Maryland 84–78. Boston University gained a bid to the NIT and lost in the first round to Boston College 95–74.
The 2011 America East men's basketball tournament was held from March 3–6, 2011 at the Chase Arena at Reich Family Pavilion in West Hartford, Connecticut. The tournament final was held on March 12 at Agganis Arena. Boston University, the highest remaining seed, defeated Stony Brook by a score of 56–54 to win its sixth America East men's basketball title. Boston U also earned an automatic bid into the 2011 NCAA tournament, where it lost in the first round to number one seed Kansas.
The Hartford Hawks baseball team is the varsity intercollegiate baseball program of the University of Hartford, located in West Hartford, Connecticut. The program had been a member of the NCAA Division I America East Conference from 1985 to 2022. It has played home games at Fiondella Field since the venue opened at the start of the 2006 season.
John Gallagher is the head men's basketball coach at Manhattan College. He previously served as the head coach at the University of Hartford from 2010 until 2022.
The New Hampshire Wildcats men's soccer team represents the University of New Hampshire in all NCAA Division I men's college soccer competitions. The Wildcats play in the America East Conference. They play in Wildcat Stadium in Durham, New Hampshire.
