The 1989 Tri Tournament (also known as 1989 DBU 100 years or DBU Centenary Tournament) was a minor international men's football tournament organised by Danish Football Association to celebrate the association's 100th anniversary. It was held in Copenhagen from 14 to 18 June 1989.
The following teams participated in the tournament.
Denmark beat Sweden 6–0 in the opening game on 14 June 1989. [1] Two days later, Sweden beat Brazil 2–1 after goals by Roger Ljung and Stefan Rehn. [2] [3] On 18 June 1989, Denmark beat Brazil 4–0 to win the tournament. [4]

Christian Bjørnshøj Poulsen is a Danish former footballer. After starting his career with Holbæk, he played for a number of European clubs as a defensive midfielder, winning the Danish Superliga championship with F.C. Copenhagen, the German DFB-Ligapokal trophy with FC Schalke 04, and the European UEFA Cup with Spanish team Sevilla FC, later also playing for Italian Serie A club Juventus, as well as Premier League side, Liverpool, French side Evian, and Dutch side Ajax.

Lars Christian Olsen is a Danish former footballer and current manager, who was most recently the manager of Esbjerg fB in the Danish Superliga. He started his coaching career with Randers in 2003, guiding them to promotion for the Danish Superliga. He led the team to the 2006 Danish Cup trophy, and Olsen was named 2006 Danish Manager of the Year. He then coached Odense BK from 2007 to 2010.

The 1924–28 Nordic Football Championship was the first Nordic Football Championship staged. Three Nordic countries participated, Denmark, Norway and Sweden. The tournament was arranged by the Danish Football Association (DBU) which celebrated its 35th anniversary. The trophy was named the Jubilæumspokal. A total of 15 matches were played and 73 goals scored giving an average of 4.87 goals per match.
The UEFA Euro 1992 Final was the final match of Euro 1992, the ninth European Football Championship, UEFA's top football competition for national teams. The match was played at the Nya Ullevi in Gothenburg, Sweden, on 26 June 1992 and was contested by Denmark and Germany. Denmark qualified for the finals ten days before they commenced after Yugoslavia were ejected by UEFA as a result of the breakup of the country. They faced England, Sweden and France in the group stage before a penalty shoot-out victory over the Netherlands in the semi-final saw them progress to their first European Championship final. Germany were placed in UEFA Euro 1984 Group 2 where they played the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Scotland and the Netherlands, before defeating Sweden in the semi-final.
