The America East Conference is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with NCAA Division I whose members are located in the Northeastern United States.
Jerold Taylor "Jay" Wright Jr. is an American former college basketball coach. He served as the head coach of Villanova University from 2001 until 2022. Wright led the Villanova to six Big East Conference championships and 16 NCAA tournament appearances in 21 seasons as head coach. Under Wright, Villanova reached four Final Fours and won two national championships in 2016 and 2018.
The XL Center is a multi-purpose arena and convention center located in downtown Hartford, Connecticut. Owned by the City of Hartford, it is managed by the quasi-public Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) under a lease with the city and operated by Spectra. In December 2007, the center was renamed when the arena's naming rights were sold to XL Group insurance company in a six-year agreement. The arena is ranked the 28th largest among college basketball arenas. It opened in 1975 as the Hartford Civic Center and was originally located adjacent to Civic Center Mall, which was demolished in 2004. It consists of two facilities: the Veterans Memorial Coliseum and the Exhibition Center.
Chase Family Arena at Reich Family Pavilion, commonly called the Sports Center or the Reich Family Pavilion, is a 4,017-seat multi-purpose arena in West Hartford, Connecticut. Home to the University of Hartford Hawks men's and women's basketball teams, the arena opened on January 25, 1990, and was dedicated to the Chase family and the Reich family, both of West Hartford, in 1998 and 2004, respectively. It hosted the 2010 and 2011 America East Conference men's and women's basketball tournaments. In 2015 the men's basketball locker room was expanded and refurbished.

This was the first year the field was expanded to 64 teams, from 53 in the previous year's tournament. It began on March 14, 1985, and ended with the championship game on April 1 in Lexington, Kentucky. A total of 63 games were played.

The 50th annual edition of the tournament began on March 17, 1988, and ended with the championship game on April 4 returning to Kansas City, Missouri for the 10th time. The Albany Great Danes men's basketball team is the basketball team that represent the University at Albany, State University of New York in Albany, New York. The school's team currently competes in the America East Conference and plays its home games at SEFCU Arena. The team played in the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament in 2006, 2007, 2013, and 2014, 2015. They also made the CIT in 2016 and 2017, and are currently coached by Dwayne Killings.
The Stony Brook Seawolves are the athletic teams of Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, New York, United States. The school competes at the Division I level of the National Collegiate Athletic Association and joined the all-sports Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) on July 1, 2022 after having been a member of the CAA's technically separate football arm of CAA Football since 2013. The official colors of the Seawolves are red, grey, and blue.

Only the top-8 schools made it to the 1989 tournament, therefore excluding both New Hampshire and Vermont. Siena College gained its only America East Conference Championship and an automatic berth to the NCAA tournament with its win over Boston University. Siena was given the 14th seed in the East Regional of the NCAA Tournament and lost in the second round to Minnesota 80–67, after upsetting #3 Stanford 80–78.

Boston University gained its second overall America East Conference Championship and an automatic berth to the NCAA tournament with its win over Niagara University. Boston University was given the 15th seed in the East Regional of the NCAA Tournament and lost in the first round to Duke 85–69. Siena College gained a bid to the NIT and lost in the first round to Boston College 73–65.

Northeastern gained its fourth consecutive and sixth overall America East Conference Championship and an automatic berth to the NCAA tournament with its win over Boston University. Northeastern was given the 14th seed in the East Regional of the NCAA Tournament and lost in the first round to Purdue 104–95. Niagara University gained a bid to the NIT and lost in the second round to La Salle 89–81, after beating Seton Hall 74–65.

Northeastern was given the 13th seed in the East Regional of the NCAA Tournament and lost in the first round to Oklahoma 80–74. Boston University gained a bid to the NIT and lost in the first round to Providence 72–69.
The 2010 America East men's basketball tournament was held from March 4–7 at Chase Arena on the University of Hartford campus. The final was held at Patrick Gym in Burlington, VT on March 13. As winners, the Vermont Catamounts win an automatic berth to the 2010 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament for the fourth time as a member of the America East conference, and first since 2005. Vermont was given the 16th seed in the West Regional of the NCAA Tournament and will face the #1 seed Syracuse Orange in a game played on March 19. As winners of the regular season championship the Stony Brook Seawolves claimed an automatic berth to the 2010 National Invitation Tournament, seeded at #8, the Seawolves took on #1 seeded Illinois Fighting Illini at home on March 17. The Boston University Terriers also gained a bid to the 2010 CBI, were given the #4 seed in the West Region, and faced the Oregon State Beavers on March 17 in Corvallis, OR.
The 2011 America East men's basketball tournament was held from March 3–6, 2011 at the Chase Arena at Reich Family Pavilion in West Hartford, Connecticut. The tournament final was held on March 12 at Agganis Arena. Boston University, the highest remaining seed, defeated Stony Brook by a score of 56–54 to win its sixth America East men's basketball title. Boston U also earned an automatic bid into the 2011 NCAA tournament, where it lost in the first round to number one seed Kansas.
The Hartford Hawks baseball team is the varsity intercollegiate baseball program of the University of Hartford, located in West Hartford, Connecticut. The program had been a member of the NCAA Division I America East Conference from 1985 to 2022. It has played home games at Fiondella Field since the venue opened at the start of the 2006 season.
The Stony Brook Seawolves men's basketball team is the college basketball program representing Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, New York. The Seawolves compete at the NCAA Division I level, which they have done so since 1999, and are a member of the Colonial Athletic Association. The team is coached by former Kent State head coach Geno Ford after former head coach, longtime Ohio State assistant Jeff Boals, resigned to accept the head coaching job at his alma mater Ohio University.
John Gallagher is the former head men's basketball coach at the University of Hartford from 2010 until 2022. He was named the tenth head coach in the history of the Hartford Hawks program on April 16, 2010 by athletic director Pat Meiser.
John Becker is an American college basketball coach, currently the head coach of the Vermont Catamounts of the America East Conference. He replaced Mike Lonergan, who left to become the coach at George Washington University.
The UConn Huskies baseball team represents the University of Connecticut, in Storrs, Connecticut, in college baseball. The program is classified as NCAA Division I, and the team competes in the Big East Conference. The team is coached by Jim Penders.
The 2021–22 Hartford Hawks men's basketball team represented the University of Hartford in the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Hawks, led by 12th-year head coach John Gallagher, played their home games at Chase Arena in West Hartford, Connecticut, as members of the America East Conference. They finished the season 12–20, 9–9 in America East Play to finish a tie for fifth place. They defeated Albany in the quarterfinals of the America East tournament before losing in the semifinals to UMBC.
