The America East Conference is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with NCAA Division I whose members are located in the Northeastern United States.
The Big 5 is an informal association of college athletic programs in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is not a conference, but rather a group of NCAA Division I basketball schools who compete for the city’s collegiate championship.
Jerold Taylor "Jay" Wright Jr. is an American former college basketball coach. He served as the head coach of Villanova University from 2001 until 2022. Wright led the Villanova Wildcats to six Big East Conference championships and 16 NCAA tournament appearances in 21 seasons as head coach. Under Wright, Villanova reached four Final Fours and won two national championships in 2016 and 2018.

It began on Saturday, March 12, 1977, and ended with the championship game on Monday, March 28 in Atlanta. A total of 32 games were played, including a national third-place game. This was the final tournament in which teams were not seeded.

The 1999 America East men's basketball tournament was hosted by the Delaware Blue Hens at Bob Carpenter Center. The final was also held at Bob Carpenter Center. Delaware gained its second consecutive America East Conference Championships and an automatic berth to the NCAA tournament with its win over Drexel. Delaware was given the 13th seed in the East Regional of the NCAA Tournament and lost in the first round to Tennessee 62–52. Hofstra University gained a bid to the NIT and lost in the first round to Rutgers 58–45.

Boston University gained its fourth overall America East Conference Championship and an automatic berth to the NCAA tournament with its win over Drexel. Boston University was given the 12th seed in the Midwest Regional of the NCAA Tournament and lost in the first round to Tulsa 81–52. Drexel University gained a bid to the NIT and lost in the first round to Bradley 66–53.

Drexel gained its second consecutive America East Conference Championship and an automatic berth to the NCAA tournament with its win over Boston University. Drexel was given the 13th seed in the East Regional of the NCAA Tournament and lost in the first round to Oklahoma State 73–49.

Boston College Eagles Women's Basketball is the NCAA Division I women's basketball program that represents Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. The team has competed in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) since 2005, having previously played in the Big East. The Eagles have appeared in 7 NCAA Tournaments in their history, most recently in 2006. They play home games at the Conte Forum, and are currently coached by Joanna Bernabei-McNamee, entering her fourth year.
The 2011–12 Drexel Dragons men's basketball team represented Drexel University during the 2011–12 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Dragons, led by 11th year head coach Bruiser Flint, played their home games at Daskalakis Athletic Center and are members of the Colonial Athletic Association. They finished the season 29–7, 16–2 in CAA play to be crowned CAA regular season champions. They lost in the championship game of the CAA Basketball tournament to VCU. As a conference champion who failed to win their conference tournament, they received an automatic bid into the 2012 NIT where they defeated UCF in the first round and Northern Iowa in the second round before falling in the quarterfinals to Massachusetts.
The 2012–13 UCF Knights men's basketball team represented the University of Central Florida during the 2012–13 college basketball season. The Knights competed in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and Conference USA (C-USA). The Knights, in the program's 44th season of basketball, were led by third-year head coach Donnie Jones, and played their home games at the UCF Arena on the university's main campus in Orlando, Florida.
The Drexel Dragons men's lacrosse team represents Drexel University in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I men's lacrosse. Drexel currently competes as a member of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) and plays its home games at Vidas Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Drexel made its first NCAA tournament appearance in 2014, and a second NCAA tournament appearance in 2021.
The 1995 North Atlantic Conference baseball tournament was held at Frawley Stadium in Wilmington, Delaware. The top six regular season finishers of the league's nine teams qualified for the double-elimination tournament. In the championship game, first-seeded Delaware defeated fifth-seeded Drexel, 12-2, to win its first tournament championship. As a result, Delaware received the North Atlantic's automatic bid to the 1995 NCAA tournament play-in round.

Eighteen teams competed in the tournament, selected by winning an automatic qualifying conference tournament or as an at-large bid based upon their performance during the regular season. The Divisions I men’s lacrosse committees announced the teams in the field on May 4, 2014.
