The 1st. Czech National Hockey League was, along with the 1st. Slovak National Hockey League, the second level of ice hockey in Czechoslovakia from 1969 to 1993. The league was made up teams from the area of the modern Czech Republic.

On January 24, 2014, he announced his retirement from professional hockey. He is currently serving as the manager of Motor České Budějovice in the Czech hockey league.

The 2004 World Cup of Hockey was an international ice hockey tournament. It was the second installment of the National Hockey League (NHL)-sanctioned competition, eight years after the inaugural 1996 World Cup of Hockey. It was held from August 30 to September 14, 2004, and took place in various venues in North America and Europe. Canada won the championship, defeating Finland in the final, held in Toronto.

Tomáš Plekanec Czech ice hockey player

Tomáš Plekanec is a Czech professional ice hockey centre currently playing for Kometa Brno of the Czech Extraliga (ELH). He played most of his professional career for the Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey League (NHL), but also briefly dressed for the Toronto Maple Leafs. After beginning his career with HC Kladno, he was selected 71st overall by the Canadiens in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. Moving to North America in 2002, he played three seasons for the Canadiens' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Hamilton Bulldogs, before joining the NHL club full-time for the 2005–06 season. By the time of his retirement from the NHL, he had played over 1,000 NHL games and is seventh all-time in games played for the Canadiens.

HC Slavia Praha ice hockey team

HC Slavia Praha is a Czech ice hockey team located in Prague playing the Czech 1st National Hockey League, the second-highest league in the country. Slavia played in the Extraliga from 1994 until 2015, winning the national championship in 2003 and 2008. The club plays its home games at Zimní stadion Eden in Prague. From 2004 until 2015, it played at O2 Arena.

Rytíři Kladno is a Czech professional ice hockey team based in the city of Kladno. They are currently a member of the Czech Extraliga. The team president and owner is Jaromír Jágr, a famous former NHL player, who is currently (2019–20) playing in home games for the team in addition to his ownership and administrative roles. The team plays its home games at ČEZ Stadion Kladno.

Czech Extraliga highest-level ice hockey league in the Czech Republic

The Czech Extraliga is the highest-level ice hockey league in the Czech Republic. It was created by the 1993 split of the Czechoslovak First Ice Hockey League following the breakup of Czechoslovakia. The league usually takes place between September and April and features 14 teams. It is considered as the fifth best ice hockey league in the world.
