2000 FIVB Women's World Olympic Qualification Tournament

The 2000 FIVB Women's World Olympic Qualification Tournament was played by eight countries to determine the last four competing teams for the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia. The tournament was held in Tokyo, Japan from June 17 to June 25, 2000. The top-four teams advance to the Olympic Games with one berth guaranteed for an Asian country.

The 2004 FIVB Women's World Olympic Qualification Tournament was a women's volleyball tournament to determine which four teams would compete in the women's event at the 2004 Athens Olympics. It was held on 8–16 May 2004 in Tokyo, Japan. The winning teams were  Japan,  South Korea,  Russia and  Italy.

The qualification for 2004 Men's Olympic Volleyball Tournament was held from 7 September 2003 to 30 May 2004.

The qualification for 2000 Men's Olympic Volleyball Tournament was held from 12 June 1999 to 27 July 2000.

The 2008 FIVB Women's World Olympic Qualification Tournament is a qualification tournament to determine the final four spots for the 2008 Summer Olympics. The qualifying tournament, The round-robin tournament through May 17–25 doubles up as the Asian Olympic Qualification Tournament and so the best three teams plus the best Asian team will book their tickets to Beijing. Hosts Japan will be joined by Thailand, Korea, Kazakhstan, Serbia, Poland, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.

The qualification for the 2008 Men's Olympic Volleyball Tournament was held from 1 September 2007 to 8 June 2008.

The qualification for the 2012 Men's Olympic Volleyball Tournament was held from 13 August 2011 to 10 June 2012.

The qualification for the 2016 Men's Olympic Volleyball Tournament was held from 8 September 2015 to 5 June 2016. Twelve teams qualified, the hosts, the FIVB World Cup champions and runners-up, five continental Olympic qualification tournament champions and four teams from two World Olympic qualification tournaments. The 2018–19 World Rugby Sevens Series, known for sponsorship reasons as the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series, was the 20th annual series of rugby sevens tournaments for national men's rugby sevens teams. The Sevens Series has been run by World Rugby since 1999–2000. This series also, for the second time, doubled as a qualifier for the 2020 Summer Olympics, with the top four countries qualifying automatically.

The qualification for the 2020 women's Olympic water polo tournament allocated ten teams quota spots: the hosts, the top team in the World League, the top team in the World Championships, five continental Olympic qualification tournament champions, and the two top teams at an Olympic qualifying tournament.

If the 2020 World Olympic Qualifying Tournament is canceled, fifty-three quota places that would have been available at the World Olympic Qualifier will now be assigned based on rankings instead, with the best-ranked boxer per region, per weight category receiving a Tokyo 2020 berth.
