The 2001–02 Serie A season was the 68th season of the Serie A, the top level of ice hockey in Italy. Eight teams participated in the league, and the HC Milano Vipers won the championship by defeating HC Alleghe in the final.

Italian Hockey League - Serie A, formerly known as Serie A, is the top tier of professional ice hockey in Italy, which first began play in 1925. They are conducted under the authority of the Federazione Italiana Sport del Ghiaccio (FISG). Milano Vipers Italian professional ice hockey team from Milan

Hockey Club Junior Milano Vipers was an Italian professional ice hockey team from Milan. Founded in 1998 as Hockey Club Junior Milano, was renamed Vipers in 2000.
In June 2008 the organization was disbanded and replaced with Hockey Milano Rossoblu, a new club that employs much of the same office staff, but does not benefit from the same fundings and operates on a significantly tighter budget.
During their short History, the Vipers won 5 Scudetti, 3 Italy Cups and 3 Italian Super Cups.

Hockey Milano Rossoblu is an ice hockey team from Milan, Italy. It replaced Milano Vipers after that organization was disbanded in 2008. It is currently playing in Alps Hockey League, joining in 2018 after replacing HC Neumarkt-Egna who withdrew due to financial difficulties.
