The Liga ACB, known as Liga Endesa for sponsorship reasons, is the top professional basketball division of the Spanish basketball league system. Administrated by the Asociación de Clubs de Baloncesto (ACB), Liga ACB is contested by 18 teams, with the two lowest-placed teams relegated to the LEB Oro and replaced by the top team in that division plus the winner of the promotion playoffs.
Club Baloncesto Granada, S.A.D. was a professional basketball team based in Granada, Andalusia. The team was founded in 1994 and has had notable players during its history, including Curtis Borchardt, Darvin Ham, Giorgos Sigalas, Scott Padgett, Pops Mensah-Bonsu, Richard Hendrix, and Joe Ingles.
The Copa del Rey 2005-06 was the 70th edition of the Spanish basketball Cup. It was organized by the ACB and was disputed in Madrid in the Palacio de Deportes de la Comunidad de Madrid between the 16th and 19 February. The winning team was TAU Cerámica.

The 2007 Supercopa de España de Baloncesto, or Spanish Basketball Super Cup, was the fourth time that the competition was organized by the Asociación de Clubs de Baloncesto (ACB) and the eighth time it was held since it was established. The basketball tournament, won by TAU Cerámica, took place in the Bizkaia Arena in the city of Baracaldo in Bilbao, Spain on September 28th and 29th, 2007. Joan Plaza Durán is a Spanish professional basketball coach for AEK Athens of the Greek Basket League and the Basketball Champions League. He trained Real Madrid Baloncesto for three years, winning one Liga ACB championship, and an ULEB Cup title. In 2009, after a bad season, he was replaced in Real Madrid, by CSKA Moscow's successful coach, Ettore Messina.

The playoffs were conducted in 3-game series, with the team with the better record holding home court advantage. Real Madrid won the 2005 ACB Playoffs by defeating the defending champions, TAU Cerámica, 3-2 in the ACB Finals.

Augusto César Lima Brito is a Brazilian-Spanish professional basketball player for Unicaja of the Liga ACB. He is 6'10" (2.08m) tall and he can play as either a power forward or a center. He is left handed, but at the age of ten, his parents forced him to learn to write and shoot with the right. He was born in Rio de Janeiro.
