He currently manages Ulster and the Irish International Rules team. A biography of his story was published in 2011 called 'Joe Kernan:Without a Shadow of Doubt'.
Fergal Doherty is a former Gaelic footballer who played for the Derry county team, with whom he won a National League title. He was nominated for an All Star four times but narrowly missed out on each occasion.
Seán Martin Lockhart is an Irish dual player of Gaelic games who plays Gaelic football for the Derry county team. He has won an Ulster Senior Football Championship and three National League titles with the county, as well an All-Ireland Under 21 Championship. He also won an All Star for his performances in the 1998 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship. Lockhart plays his club football for St Mary's Banagher. Barry McGoldrick is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays for the Derry county team, with whom he has won a National League title. He is also the current team captain. At underage level he won the Ulster Minor and All-Ireland Minor Championships with the county.

Aaron Kernan is a Gaelic football player from Crossmaglen, County Armagh, Northern Ireland. He plays for the local Crossmaglen Rangers club and for the Armagh senior football team.
