The 2007 Kazakhstan Hockey Cup was the 6th edition of the Kazakhstan Hockey Cup, the national ice hockey cup competition in Kazakhstan. Seven teams participated and Kazzinc-Torpedo won its 4th Cup. [1]

Kazakhstan national football team Mens national association football team representing Kazakhstan

The Kazakhstan national football team represents Kazakhstan in men's international football and it is governed by the Football Federation of Kazakhstan. They split from the Soviet Union national football team after independence in 1991 and joined the Asian Football Confederation's Central Asian Football Federation. Kazakhstan mens national ice hockey team

The Kazakhstan men's national ice hockey team is controlled by Kazakhstan Ice Hockey Federation. Kazakhstan is currently ranked 16th in the world. They have competed at the Winter Olympics twice, in 1998 and 2006. The national team joined the IIHF in 1992 and first played internationally at the 1993 Men's World Ice Hockey Championships. The team has frequently played at the elite division of the World Championship, often moving between there and the Division I level.

The 2006 Men's Ice Hockey World Championships was the 70th such event hosted by the International Ice Hockey Federation. Teams representing 45 countries participated in four levels of competition. The competition also served as qualifications for division placements in the 2007 competition. In the Division I Championship held in April, Germany and Austria were promoted to the Championship division while Israel and Croatia were demoted to Division II. In the Division II competition, Romania and China were promoted, South Africa and New Zealand were relegated to Division III. In the Division III competition, Iceland and Turkey were promoted to Division II for 2007.

Sport in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan consistently performs in Olympic competitions. It is especially successful in boxing. This has brought some attention to the Central Asian nation, and increased world awareness of its athletes. Kazakhstan's city of Almaty submitted twice bid for the Winter Olympics: In 2014 and again for the 2022 Winter Olympics. Nur-Sultan and Almaty hosted the 2011 Asian Winter Games.

Nigel Dawes Canadian-Kazakh ice hockey player

Nigel Alexander Dawes is a Canadian-Kazakhstani professional ice hockey winger who is currently playing with Ak Bars Kazan of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). He previously played seven seasons for Barys Astana before joining Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg. He also played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Montreal Canadiens, Atlanta Thrashers, Calgary Flames, Phoenix Coyotes and New York Rangers.

Torpedo Hockey Club, commonly referred to as Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk, formerly known as Kazzinc-Torpedo (1999–2015), is a professional ice hockey team based in Oskemen, Kazakhstan. Torpedo has typically been the most dominant developmental club in Kazakhstan and its senior level team also plays at the Supreme Hockey League (VHL), one step below the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). Most Kazakh players who have reached the National Hockey League (NHL) trace their roots to Torpedo. Kazzinc-Torpedo is the most crowned Kazakhstan team, with 13 championship wins.

Barys Nur-Sultan Professional ice hockey team in Kazakhstan

Barys Hockey Club, commonly referred to as Barys Nur-Sultan or simply Barys, is a professional ice hockey team based in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan. It is one of the founding members of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). They play in the league's Chernyshev Division of the Eastern Conference. Their home arena is the Barys Arena, where they have played since the 2015–16 KHL season. Prior to 2015, the team played home games at the Kazakhstan Sports Palace for 14 seasons, beginning in 2001. The head coach is Andrei Skabelka and the president is Boris Ivanishchev.

The Kazakhstan Hockey Cup is the national ice hockey cup in Kazakhstan. It was first played in 2002. Kazzinc-Torpedo has won the most cups, with four, Kazakhmys Satpaev/Karagandy has won three, Arlan Kokshetau, Gornyak Rudny and Kulager Petropavl have all won two respectively, Yertis Pavlodar, Arystan Temirtau and Altay Torpedo have both won one apiece.

Milenyum Paten Spor Kulübü is a Turkish women's ice hockey team in Ankara, Turkey playing in the Turkish Ice Hockey Women's League. Founded in 2002 for figure skating only, the club is active in ice hockey since 2007. In March 2014 the team won the league for the fifth time, becoming the most successful hockey team in the country. The club's colors are purple and silver.

Hockey Club Saryarka, commonly referred as Saryarka Karagandy, is a professional ice hockey team based in Karagandy, Kazakhstan. They play in the Supreme Hockey League (VHL), the second level of Russian ice hockey, since the 2012–13 season. Before that they competed in the Kazakhstan Hockey Championship and won its 2009–10 season. In the 2013–14 season, they won Bratina Cup. Saryarka became a farm club of Avangard Omsk in 2015 off-season. Previously it was affiliated with Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk and Barys Astana.
