The 2007 Ogun State gubernatorial election was the 6th gubernatorial election of Ogun State. Held on April 14, 2007, the People's Democratic Party nominee Gbenga Daniel won the election, defeating Ibikunle Amosun of the All Nigeria Peoples Party. [1] [2]
A total of 18 candidates contested in the election. Gbenga Daniel from the People's Democratic Party won the election, defeating Ibikunle Amosun from the All Nigeria Peoples Party. Registered voters was 1,466,308. [3] [4]

Ibikunle Amosun is a Nigerian politician who was elected senator for the Ogun Central district of Ogun State, Nigeria in April 2003. In April 2007 he made an unsuccessful bid to be elected governor of Ogun State. He ran for governor again in 2011, and this time was elected on the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) platform. He ran for office for a second term under the All Progressives Congress in 2015 and was re-elected, being sworn into office on 29 May 2015.
