The 2007 Nicky Rackard Cup final was a hurling match played at Croke Park on 3 August 2008 to determine the winners of the 2007 Nicky Rackard Cup, the 3rd season of the Nicky Rackard Cup, a tournament organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association for the third tier hurling teams. The final was contested by Sligo of Connacht and Louth of Leinster, with Sligo winning by 3-19 to 3-10. [1]
The Nicky Rackard Cup is the fourth tier of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship. Each year, the champion team in the Nicky Rackard Cup is promoted to the Christy Ring Cup, and the lowest finishing team is relegated to the Lory Meagher Cup.
The 2005 Nicky Rackard Cup began on Saturday, 18 June 2005. 2005 was the first time the Nicky Rackard Cup was introduced into the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship. It was devised by the Hurling Development Committee to encourage some of the so-called "weaker" hurling counties and to give them the chance of playing more games. It is in effect a "Division 3" for hurling teams in Ireland. The final was played on Sunday, 21 August when London beat Louth in the final at Croke Park, Dublin.

The 2007 Nicky Rackard Cup began in June 2007. It was the third time this element of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was played. Both Roscommon and Armagh easily progressed to the final in Croke Park, averaging winning margins of 23 and 14 points respectively in the early rounds. Paul Seevers is a hurler from County Sligo, Ireland. He played with the Sligo county team from more than 20 years. He helped the Sligo team to a National Hurling League Division 3 victory in 2004, scoring 2–07 in the final and won a Nicky Rackard Cup in 2008 when Sligo overcame favourites Louth in the final in Croke Park by 3–19 to 3–10, he scored 1–04 in that game and 2–30 over the course of the championship. He also won 3 Railway Cup medals with Connacht. He plays with the Tubbercurry club in Sligo. He represented Ireland in the Shinty International against Scotland in 2003. He won 10 Sligo Senior Hurling Championships winning 9 in a row from 1995 to 2004 and once again in 2006. He also won a Sligo Senior Football Championship in 1991.
The 2014 Nicky Rackard Cup is the tenth staging of the Nicky Rackard Cup hurling championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 2005. The cup competition began on 26 April 2014 and will end on 14 June 2014.
