The 2008–09 season of the Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 2 began on 16 August 2008 and will end on 27 May 2009. Espoir Sportif de Hammam-Sousse are the reigning champions. The competition saw the return of two previous participants, US Ben Guerdane and STIR S Zarzouna from Ligue Professionnelle 3.

The Ligue Professionelle 2 is the second football level in Tunisia, under Ligue Professionelle 1 which is the top level of Tunisian football. Contested by 14 clubs, playing each other twice during the season, the top two teams are promoted at the end of the season, whilst the bottom two teams are relegated to the Ligue Professionnelle 3.

ES Hammam-Sousse Tunisian association football club

Espoir Sportif de Hammam-Sousse, often referred to as ESHS is a football club from Hammam-Sousse in Tunisia. Founded in 1954, the team plays in yellow and black colors. Their ground is the Stade Municipal Bou Ali-Lahouar also called Stadium l'Arbi Lahwar, which has a capacity of 6,500.

Stir Sportive Zarzouna

STIR Sportive de Zarzouna, is a Tunisian football club, based in the Zarzouna district in the city of Bizerte in northern Tunisia. Founded in 1965, the team plays in Yellow, blue and white colors. Their ground is Stade de Zarzouna, which has a capacity of 6,000.

Association Sportive de Djerba is a football club based in Houmet Es'Souk, Djerba in Tunisia. Founded in 1946, the team plays in white and green colors. Their ground is Stade Houmet Es'Souk, which has a capacity of 12,000.

AS Gabès Tunisian association football club

Avenir Sportif de Gabès, often referred to as ٍِASG or Zliza is a football club from Gabès in Tunisia. The club was founded in 1978,by M. Hmad Nasfi, a local businessman. the team plays in red and black colors. Their ground is the Stade du Zrig, which the share with their ultimate rivals Stade Gabèsien or Stayda, which has a capacity of 15,000. The derby between Zliza and Stade Gabèsien is always a big event that enjoys fans of football, even in Gabès or in all Tunisia.
