2009 Galway United F.C. season. This is a list of competitive matches played by Galway United in the 2009 League of Ireland Premier Division season. Following the departure of Jeff Kenna to St Patrick's Athletic on 14 January 2009, Ian Foster was promoted from his role as assistant manager, signing a two-year contract to take over the reins at the club. Foster succeeded in helping the club avoid the relegation play-offs in 2009, albeit due to Derry City's expulsion from the League of Ireland Premier Division. [1] [2]

Finn Harps F.C. association football club

Finn Harps Football Club are an Irish football club that play in the Premier Division of the League of Ireland, as of 2020. The club was founded in 1954 and elected to the league in 1969. They hail from Ballybofey, County Donegal and play their home matches at Finn Park. The club's colours are blue and white, and they go by the nickname Harps. The main successes of the club include winning an FAI Cup in 1973–74 and the First Division title in 2004. They also contested the 1999 FAI Cup Final(s), a second replay of which ended in a narrow defeat, the first replay having been lost to a draw with 30 seconds left to play.

2010 Galway United F.C. season. This is a list of competitive matches played by Galway United in 2010. Following the departure of Sean Connor from his post at Dundalk, 24 hours after the final game of the season, Ian Foster sought permission from Galway United CEO Nick Leeson to speak with Dundalk, but was denied. He subsequently resigned his position and was appointed team manager at Dundalk on 4 December 2009. Foster cited alleged payment problems during the 2009 season as justification for his contact with Dundalk and his subsequent appointment there. On 10 January 2010, Sean Connor was appointed as team manager by Galway United. Between the end of 2009 and the start of the 2010 season, Galway United and Dundalk effectively swapped team managers, as Ian Foster moved in the opposite direction to Dundalk.

2008 A Championship

The 2008 A Championship was the inaugural season of the A Championship. The league featured 16 teams. UCD A were the inaugural champions, Cork City A won the Shield competition and Mervue United were promoted to the First Division after a play off.

2009 A Championship

The 2009 A Championship was the second season of the A Championship. The season was sponsored by Newstalk. The league featured 18 teams. Shamrock Rovers A were the champions while the runners up, Salthill Devon, were promoted to the First Division.

2011 League of Ireland Premier Division

The 2011 League of Ireland Premier Division was the 27th season of the League of Ireland Premier Division. The league was also known as the Airtricity League for sponsorship reasons. The division featured 10 teams. Shamrock Rovers were champions while Sligo Rovers finished as runners-up.

The 2014 League of Ireland Premier Division was the 30th season of the League of Ireland Premier Division. The division featured 12 teams. Dundalk were champions and Cork City finished as runners-up.

The 2015 League of Ireland Premier Division was the 31st season of the League of Ireland Premier Division. Dundalk were champions and Cork City finished as runners-up.

The 2016 League of Ireland Premier Division was the 32nd season of the League of Ireland Premier Division. The league began on 4 March 2016 and concluded on 28 October 2016; the relegation play-offs followed on 31 October and 4 November 2016. The prize fund for the SSE Airtricity League Premier and First Divisions was €475,500 for the 2016 season.

The 2010 League of Ireland First Division season was the 26th season of the League of Ireland First Division. The First Division was contested by 12 teams and Derry City won the title.

The 2017 League of Ireland Premier Division was the 33rd season of the League of Ireland Premier Division. The league began on Friday 24 February 2017 and concluded on 27 October 2017. Fixtures were announced on 9 December 2016.
