The 2010 Prime Minister's Cup was the fifth national football cup competition in Laos. The competition was won by Bank FC, who beat MPS 5-2 in the final after extra time. [1] This was the first time in three years that the national cup had been held. No tournament was held in 2008 or 2009 due to preparations for the 2009 Southeast Asian Games, as players from all clubs were called up to the Under 23 team in preparation. [2]

The Copa CONMEBOL was an annual football cup competition organized by CONMEBOL between 1992 and 1999 for South American football clubs. During its time of existence, it was a very prestigious South American club football contest, similar to the UEFA Cup. Clubs qualified for the competition based on their performance in their national leagues and cup competitions. Teams that were not able to qualify for the Copa Libertadores played in this tournament. The tournament was played as a knockout cup. The tournament ended in 1999, following the expansion of Copa Libertadores to 32 teams. The Copa Mercosur and Copa Merconorte, which both started in 1998, replaced the Copa CONMEBOL, and the merger of those three cups transformed in the current Copa Sudamericana, being all of them the precursors of the cup.
The Peace Cup was an invitational pre-season friendly football tournament for club teams which was held every two years by the Sunmoon Peace Football Foundation. It was usually contested by eight clubs from several continents, though 12 teams participated in 2009. The first three competitions were held in South Korea, and the 2009 Peace Cup was held in Madrid and Andalusia, Spain. Previous winners are PSV, Tottenham Hotspur, Lyon, Aston Villa, and Hamburger SV, who were the final champions.

Yotha FC is a football club from Vientiane, Laos. Founded in 1997, the club was formerly known as MCTPC FC, before changing their name to MPWT FC in 2008. The club changed their name again to Yotha FC for the 2012 season. The club has won 3 championships of the Lao League in 2002, 2003 and 2011 and the Prime Minister's Cup in 2003 and 2007.
The Prime Minister's Cup is an annual football competition in Laos, first established in 2003 to provide a platform for teams outside of Vientiane to compete against those in the Lao League In addition to encouraging the development of football across Laos, the cup is also intended to encourage regional players to take their place in the national team and to celebrate the National Day of Laos on December 2.

Bank FC is a football club based Laos. They last played in the Lao League, the top national football league in Laos in 2011 when they finished runners up to Lao Police Club. They did not participate in the 2012 season. They had previously participated in the Lao League in 2010 when they competed under the name Bank of Lao. Prior to this they appear to have competed in the Lao League under the name Bank in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007. A team called Banks FC entered the Lao League in 2008 who may be the same team
