Local elections in the Zakarpattia Oblast were held on 31 October 2010 as a part of nationwide local elections in Ukraine the same day. Newly founded United Centre of the former Head of the Secretariat of the President of Ukraine Viktor Baloha has won the election, receiving 25,7% of the vote and 46 seats in the 108-seats Oblast Council. [1]

In Uzhhorod, despite coming second in the party-list election, United Centre won the election, with 18 seats in the City Council, followed by Party of Regions and Batkivshchyna. [2] [3] While the mayoral election was won by the former (2002–2006) Mayor Viktor Pohorelov, who received 33,7% of the vote, 9 points ahead of the incumbent Serhiy Ratushniak. [4]

Zakarpattia Oblast, also referred to as simply Zakarpattia or Transcarpathia in English, is an oblast in western Ukraine, mostly coterminous with the historical region of Carpathian Ruthenia. Its administrative centre is the city of Uzhhorod. Other major cities within the oblast include Mukachevo, Khust, Berehove, and Chop, the last of which is home to railroad transport infrastructure.

Snap mayoral and city council elections were held in Kyiv on 25 May 2008. The election, originally scheduled to be held alongside nationwide 2010 local elections, was called by the Verkhovna Rada by a 246–5 vote on March 18 amid corruption allegations involving the incumbent Mayor Leonid Chernovetskyi. The local election determined the new Mayor of Kyiv, as well as the composition of the 120-seat Kyiv City Council.

The Ternopil Oblast local election, 2009 elections in the Ternopil Oblast regional council, were held on March 15, 2009 on December 18, 2008, by the Ukrainian Parliament initiated by Bloc Yulia Tymoshenko (BYuT) but cancelled on 3 March 2009 by the same Parliament, with most members of BYuT voting against holding the snap elections. Following a lawsuit filed by Svoboda the Ternopil oblast` court acknowledged this decision illegal on March 11, 2009. The next day BYuT lodged an appeal in the Lviv Administrative Appeal Court against this decision.

Serhiy Mykolayovych Ratushnyak is a former long-term Mayor of Uzhhorod, former People's Deputy of Ukraine and he was a self-nominated candidate in the 2010 Ukrainian presidential election. During the election Ratushnyak received 0.12% of the votes.
