He was re-elected into the Nigerian senate on 28 March 2015 under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and was succeeded by Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in June 2019.

Olusola Adeyeye is a Nigerian biologist and politician who was elected Senator for the Osun Central constituency of Osun State, Nigeria in the April 2011 federal elections. He ran on the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) platform. He also got re-elected into the Nigerian senate under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in 2015.

The 2019 Nigerian Senate election in Ekiti State held on February 23, 2019, to elect members of the Nigerian Senate to represent Ekiti State. The elections will coincide with the 2023 presidential election, as well as other elections to the Senate and elections to the House of Representatives; with state elections being held two weeks later. Primaries were held between 4 April and 9 June 2022.
