The Super heavyweight competition was the heaviest class featured at the 2011 World Amateur Boxing Championships, held at the Heydar Aliyev Sports and Exhibition Complex. Boxers were not limited to a maximum kilograms in body mass.

Venus Ebony Starr Williams is an American professional tennis player. A former world No. 1 in both singles and doubles, Williams has won seven Grand Slam singles titles, five at Wimbledon and two at the US Open. She is widely regarded as one of the all-time greats of the sport.
Daniela Hantuchová is a Slovak tennis commentator and retired player. She turned professional in 1999 and had her breakthrough year in 2002, when she won her first WTA Tour title at the Indian Wells Masters, defeating Martina Hingis in the final and becoming the lowest-ranked player to ever win the tournament. She also reached the quarterfinals of that year's Wimbledon Championships and US Open, ending the year in the top ten. She was part of the Slovak team that won the 2002 Fed Cup and the 2005 Hopman Cup.
Stanislas Wawrinka is a Swiss professional tennis player. He reached a career-high Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) singles ranking of world No. 3 for the first time on 27 January 2014. His career highlights include three Grand Slam titles, those being the 2014 Australian Open, 2015 French Open and 2016 US Open, where he defeated the world No. 1 player in the final on all three occasions. Other achievements include reaching the final of the 2017 French Open, winning an ATP Tour Masters 1000 title at the 2014 Monte-Carlo Masters, and reaching three other Masters finals. Representing Switzerland, Wawrinka won gold in doubles at the 2008 Beijing Olympics with teammate Roger Federer, and was also pivotal in the Swiss team's victory at the 2014 Davis Cup.
Defending champion Justine Henin-Hardenne defeated Svetlana Kuznetsova in the final, 6–4, 6–4 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2006 French Open. It was her third French Open title. She won the title without losing a set during the tournament, or without facing a tiebreak in any set.
Maria Sharapova defeated Ana Ivanovic in the final, 7–5, 6–3 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2008 Australian Open. It was her third major singles title. She did not lose a set during the tournament or face a tiebreak in any set. Sharapova also became the first Russian woman to win the title. It was Ivanovic's second runner-up finish in as many major finals, though she would win the French Open a few months later.
Roger Federer defeated Robin Söderling in the final, 6–1, 7–6(7–1), 6–4 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2009 French Open. It was his first and his only French Open title and 14th major title overall, completing the career Grand Slam and equaling Pete Sampras' then-record of men's singles major titles. It was Federer's fourth consecutive French Open final, having lost the previous three to Rafael Nadal. Söderling became the first Scandinavian major finalist since Thomas Johansson at the 2002 Australian Open.
Bob Bryan and Samantha Stosur were the defending champions but lost in the quarterfinals to Mark Knowles and Anna-Lena Grönefeld.
Roger Federer defeated Andy Murray in the final, 6–3, 6–4, 7–6(13–11) to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2010 Australian Open. It was his fourth Australian Open title and 16th major title overall.
Rafael Nadal defeated Robin Söderling in the final, 6–4, 6–2, 6–4 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2010 French Open. It was his fifth French Open title and his seventh major title overall. Nadal won the title without dropping a set for the second time. By winning the title, Nadal regained the world No. 1 ranking from Roger Federer, who was in contention to break Pete Sampras' record of 286 weeks spent with the top position.
Novak Djokovic defeated Andy Murray in the final, 6–4, 6–2, 6–3 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2011 Australian Open. It was his second Australian Open title and second major title overall.
Novak Djokovic defeated the defending champion Rafael Nadal in a rematch of the previous year's final, 6–2, 6–4, 6–7(3–7), 6–1 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2011 US Open. It was his first US Open title, his third major of the year, and his fourth major title overall. Djokovic saved match points en route to the title, saving two against Roger Federer in the semifinals. This was the second consecutive US Open where Djokovic saved two match points against Federer to reach the final, and the fifth consecutive US Open where Djokovic and Federer played each other. With the loss, Federer failed to win a major in a calendar year for the first time since 2002.
Jessica Pegula is an American professional tennis player. She has a career-high WTA rankings in singles and doubles of world No. 3, both achieved on October 24, 2022. She has won two singles titles and six doubles titles on the WTA Tour, one WTA Challenger doubles title, and seven ITF doubles titles. She is a five-time Grand Slam quarterfinalist in singles, having reached this stage thrice at the Australian Open (2021–2023), once at the 2022 French Open, and once at the 2022 US Open. She is also a major finalist in doubles, achieving this feat at the 2022 French Open with teammate Coco Gauff.
Serena Williams defeated Agnieszka Radwańska in the final, 6–1, 5–7, 6–2 to win the ladies' singles tennis title at the 2012 Wimbledon Championships. It was her fifth Wimbledon singles title and her 14th major singles title overall. Radwańska became the first Pole to reach a major singles final since Jadwiga Jędrzejowska in 1939, and the first in the Open Era.
Serena Williams defeated Victoria Azarenka in the final, 6–2, 2–6, 7–5 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2012 US Open. Azarenka served for the championship and led 5–3 in the third set. It was the first time since 1995 that the final went to three sets. With the victory, Williams became the third woman in history to win Wimbledon, the Olympics, and the US Open in the same season, after Steffi Graf and her sister Venus Williams. Williams lost only one set during the tournament, to Azarenka in the final.
Rafael Nadal defeated Novak Djokovic in the final, 6–2, 3–6, 6–4, 6–1 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2013 US Open. It was his second US Open title and 13th major title overall, moving him to third place on the all time men's singles major titles list, past Roy Emerson. This marked the third time in four years that Nadal and Djokovic contested the final.
Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci were the defending champions, but lost to Serena and Venus Williams in the quarterfinals.
Andrea Hlaváčková and Lucie Hradecká won the title, defeating Ashleigh Barty and Casey Dellacqua in the final, 6–7(4–7), 6–1, 6–4.

Stan Wawrinka defeated Novak Djokovic in the final, 4–6, 6–4, 6–3, 6–4 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2015 French Open. It was Wawrinka's second major title. As he did when he won the 2014 Australian Open, Wawrinka defeated the world No. 1 and world No. 2 en route to the title. Djokovic was attempting to complete the career Grand Slam.

By reaching the final, Djokovic became the third man to reach all four major finals in the same year in the Open Era, after Rod Laver and Federer. The final was also a rematch of the final at the Cincinnati Masters three weeks earlier, which Federer won in straight sets.
Andy Murray defeated Milos Raonic in the final, 6–4, 7–6(7–3), 7–6(7–2), to win the gentlemen's singles tennis title at the 2016 Wimbledon Championships. It was his second Wimbledon title and third major title overall.
