The 2012 Copa del Rey de Balonmano was the 37th edition of the Copa del Rey de Balonmano. It took place in the Palacio de los Deportes Infanta Cristina, in Torrevieja, Valencian Community, between 7 & 11 March 2012. It was hosted by Liga ASOBAL, Torrevieja city council, Costa Blanca Tourism & Hotel La Laguna. Torrevieja was the host team. Torrevieja hosted Copa del Rey for second time from 2002.

The 2012 Copa ASOBAL was the 23rd edition of the Copa ASOBAL. It took place in the Pabellón As Travesas, in Vigo, Galicia, on 21 & 22 December 2012. It was hosted by Liga ASOBAL, Vigo city council & Academia Octavio. Vigo hosts Copa ASOBAL for third time. FC Barcelona Intersport won its eight title and qualified for 2013–14 EHF Champions League.

The 2012–13 season of the División de Plata de Balonmano is the 19th season of second-tier handball in Spain.

The Liga ASOBAL 2012–13 was the 23rd season since its establishment. Barcelona Intersport was the defending champions. The campaign began on Friday, 7 September 2012. The last matchday was played on Saturday, 25 May 2013. A total of 16 teams contested the league, 14 of which had already contested in the 2011–12 season, and two of which were promoted from the División de Plata 2011–12.

The 2013 Copa ASOBAL was the 24th edition of the Copa ASOBAL. It took place in the Palau Blaugrana, in Barcelona, Catalonia, on 21 & 22 December 2013. The tournament was hosted by FC Barcelona and Barcelona city council, being the second time Barcelona hosts Copa ASOBAL.

The Copa del Rey de Balonmano 2014–15 was the 40th edition of this tournament, organized by Liga ASOBAL. The tournament began on October 4 and 5 with the matches of the first round.

The 2014 Copa ASOBAL was the 25th edition of the Copa ASOBAL. It took place in the Palacio de los Deportes, in León, Castile and León, on 20 & 21 December 2014. The tournament was hosted by ABANCA Ademar León and León city council, being the fifth time León hosts Copa ASOBAL.

The 2015–16 Copa del Rey de Balonmano was the 41st edition of this tournament, organized by Liga ASOBAL. The tournament began on October 3 and 4, 2015, with the matches of the first round.

The 2015 Copa ASOBAL was the 26th edition of the Copa ASOBAL. It took place like the previous year in the Palacio de los Deportes, in León, Castile and León, on 19 and 20 December 2015. The tournament was hosted by ABANCA Ademar León and León city council, being the sixth time León hosted Copa ASOBAL.
