The 2012 Rome Rampage season was the first season for the United Indoor Football League (UIFL) franchise.

The 2012 United Indoor Football League season was the second season of the league. The league was split into two conferences, and four divisions.

The Georgia Rampage were a professional indoor football team based in Dalton, Georgia. They were members of X-League Indoor Football (X-League). The Rampage joined the X-League in 2014, after a few members of the Ultimate Indoor Football League (UIFL) had planned on making a new league. The Rampage originally began play in 2012 as an expansion team of the UIFL, going by the name of the Rome Rampage. The Rampage plays their home games at the Northwest Georgia Trade and Convention Center in Dalton.

On March 5, 2011, it was announced that indoor American football would be returning to Rome, Georgia in the form of the Rome River Dogs. On May 24, 2011, the River Dogs announced that they would be changing their name to the Rome Rampage, and that they would be playing at the Forum Civic Center. [1] On May 31, 2011, the Rampage introduced Joe Micco as the franchise's first ever head coach. [2]

Indoor American football sport

Indoor American football is a variation of American football played at ice hockey-sized indoor arenas. While varying in details from league to league, the rules of indoor football are designed to allow for play in a smaller arena. It is a distinct discipline and not be confused with traditional American football played in large domed stadiums, as is done by some teams at the college and professional levels.

Rome, Georgia City in Georgia, United States

Located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, it is the principal city of the Rome, Georgia, Metropolitan Statistical Area, which encompasses all of Floyd County. At the 2010 census, the city had a population of 36,303. It is the largest city in Northwest Georgia and the 19th largest city in the state.

LaRoche J. Jackson is an American football defensive back for the Atlanta Havoc of the American Arena League (AAL). He played as a defensive back for Clark Atlanta University. Originally established in Estero, Florida, and playing out of Germain Arena, they began play in 2012 as the Florida Tarpons, an expansion team of the Ultimate Indoor Football League (UIFL). The Tarpons joined the X-League Indoor Football (X-League) during the 2015 season when the UIFL merged with the X-League. They played in the Arena Pro Football (APF) league in 2017 before the league became the American Arena League (AAL) for 2018. For 2019, they formed their own Florida-based league, called the A-League.

The Mississippi Hound Dogs were a professional indoor football team based in Tupelo, Mississippi. The Hound Dogs played their home games at the BancorpSouth Arena as a member of the Ultimate Indoor Football League's Southern Conference.

Tennessee Rail Runners

The Tennessee Rail Runners were a professional indoor football team proposed to begin play in the Ultimate Indoor Football League for its 2012 season. Based in East Ridge, Tennessee, the Rail Runners would have played their home games at Camp Jordan Arena as a member of the UIFL's new South Division, joining the Rome Rampage, Florida Tarpons, Mississippi Hound Dogs, Carolina Aviators, and Lakeland Raiders as well as the existing Eastern Kentucky Drillers and Huntington Hammer.

Florida Marine Raiders

The Florida Marine Raiders were a professional indoor football team; though they began play in 2012 as a member of the Ultimate Indoor Football League, for 2014 they became a charter member of the X-League Indoor Football (X-League). The Raiders were based in Lakeland, Florida, with home games played at the Lakeland Center. The Lakeland Raiders were founded by Michael Mink in his mother's vision of helping players get a second chance.
