The 2012 Russian Women's Cup was the 20th edition of the Russian women's football national cup organized by the Russian Football Union, running from 18 April to 5 May 2011. [1] It is contested by all eight teams from the 2012 Russian Championship.
Zvezda Perm have won the cup for the second time after 2007.

The Russian Women's Football Championship, also known as the Top Division and the Women's Football League, is the highest professional women's football league in Russia.
WFC Rossiyanka was a Russian women's football club from Khimki.
FC Energy Voronezh was a women's football club from Voronezh, Russia.

Lyudmyla Pekur is a former Ukrainian footballer who last played for Ryazan VDV in the Russian Championship. She previously played for Lehenda Chernihiv and Zhytlobud-1 Kharkiv in the Ukrainian league and Kubanochka, Nadezhda Noginsk, Rossiyanka, Energiya Voronezh and Zvezda Perm in the Russian Championship. She first played the UEFA Women's Cup in 2004 with Zhytlobud-1, and later with Rossiyanka and Zvezda.

The competition was doubled from 12 to 24 game weeks, and took place from April 17 — October 17, 2010. For the third year in a row it was contested by seven teams, with Kubanochka Krasnodar replacing disbanded Lada Togliatti to join Energiya Voronezh, ShVSM Izmailovo, WFC Rossiyanka, Ryazan VDV, Zvezda Perm and Zvezda Zvenigorod.

Like the previous year the competition was contested by seven teams, with Lada Togliatti and Zvezda Zvenigorod replacing disbanded teams Nadezhda Noginsk and SKA Rostov to join Energiya Voronezh, ShVSM Izmailovo, WFC Rossiyanka, Ryazan VDV and Zvezda Perm. Twelve game weeks were played from May 7 to October 29, 2009.

Like the 2011–12 Russian Premier League, it marked the competition's transition from its traditional spring to autumn model to the Western autumn to spring calendar, running from 16 April 2011 to 28 June 2012. It was contested by eight teams, one more than the previous edition, with Zorky Krasnogorsk and Mordovochka Saransk joining the championship. Defending champion WFC Rossiyanka won its fourth title with a 17 points advantage over newcomer Zorky, which also qualified for the UEFA Champions League as the runner-up. Five-times champion Energiya Voronezh withdrew from the championship following the end of the season for financial reasons.
