The 2013 FBD Insurance League was an inter-county and colleges Gaelic football competition in the province of Connacht. As well as the five county teams, three colleges' teams competed: Institute of Technology, Sligo, NUI Galway and Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT). Leitrim won for the first time in the competition's history. [1]

Format

The teams are drawn into two groups of four teams. Each team plays the other teams in its group once, earning 2 points for a win and 1 for a draw. The two group winners play in the final. The winners were supposed to play a further game against New York, but this game was never played. [2]

Leitrim GAA county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association in Ireland

The Leitrim County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) or Leitrim GAA is one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland, and is responsible for Gaelic games in County Leitrim. Leitrim county football team Gaelic football team

The Leitrim county football team represents Leitrim in men's Gaelic football and is governed by Leitrim GAA, the county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association. The team competes in the three major annual inter-county competitions; the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Connacht Senior Football Championship and the National Football League.

The New York county football team represents the New York metropolitan area in men's Gaelic football and is governed by New York GAA, the County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association. The team competes in two of the three major annual inter-county competitions; the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship and the Connacht Senior Football Championship; they do not currently compete in the National Football League.
