The 2013 MAD Video Music Awards were the 10th award ceremony, hosted by Themis Georgantas and Mary Sinatsaki. They took place on 25 June 2013. The awards were broadcast from the Tae Kwon Do Stadium in Athens, honoring the best music videos and artists of the past year. The theme song, "We Are Young", was performed by the Australian-Greek singer Vassy. The nominations were announced on 23 May 2013 by the presenter, Themis Georgantas. Vegas received five nominations, while Elena Paparizou, Sakis Rouvas, Michalis Hatzigiannis, Melisses and Demy received four. The song "All the Time" received three nominations, the most for any song. [1] [2]

As every year there were thirty three categories with additionally, the top 50 category which was introduced for first time where the fans could vote their five favorite out of the fifty.

Due to the celebration of the 10 years, the logo was selected through The Missing Logo, a contest where the fans could create their own logos. The winning logo was revealed on 1 May 2013. [3] [4] Also there was another contest with the fifty best performances from the past awards and the people could vote for their favorites.

Shows

As every year, a kick-off party was held to mark the start of the Awards. The party was held on 23 May 2013 at the Balux Privé in Athens, the same day the voting opened. [5] Eleni Foureira, Ivi Adamou, Vegas, Kostas Martakis were some of the artists that attended for the party. [6] [7] A 10 hours live concert was held on 14 June to celebrate the 10 years of the awards. Artists including Ivi Adamou, Melisses, Demy, Shaya and Stavento performed in the concert. [8]

A few hours before the ceremony a MAD PreShow was held with Melisses, Melina Zisi, Snik, OGE, The Fade and Stelios Legakis performing cover versions of the best performances through the ten years of the awards. The songs were picked by the fans in April. [9]

To Party Arhizei 2008 concert tour by Helena Paparizou

To Party Arhizei is the first official large-scale concert tour by Greek contemporary laïka and pop singer Helena Paparizou and first tour of Greece as a solo artist. The tour took place during the summer of 2008, and kicked off at the National Stadium in Kalamata on July 2, 2008, ending in Athens on September 19, 2008. The final concert at Theatro Vrahon in Athens was recorded, and released as a bonus DVD on Vrisko To Logo Na Zo: Deluxe Edition titled Live in Concert. Overall, the concert tour was a moderate success for Paparizou, with an audience total of approximately 192,000 over 29 concerts and one sold-out venue. Alpha TV broadcast the concert on television on December 30, 2008 as part of their holiday music schedule.

Ivi Adamou Greek Cypriot singer

Ivi Adamou is a Greek Cypriot singer. She was born and raised in Agia Napa, Cyprus and currently resides in Alexandroupoli, Greece. Adamou rose to recognition in Greece and Cyprus following her participation in the second season of the Greek version of The X Factor, where she was under the mentorship of Giorgos Theofanous. Right after her elimination from the X Factor, Adamou secured a recording contract with Sony Music Greece. She gained further recognition from her participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012, where she represented Cyprus with the song "La La Love".

The second series of the music talent show The X Factor Greece began airing on ANT1 on 2 October 2009, and was won by Stavros Michalakakos of Limassol (Lemesos), Cyprus on 12 February 2010. The show was presented for a second year by Sakis Rouvas. It was also broadcast abroad via ANT1's international stations. The series featured Eleftheria Eleftheriou and Ivi Adamou who both participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 representing Greece and Cyprus as well as Hovig who represented Cyprus in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. Also the runner up of the series, Nini Shermadini, was one of the Georgian backing vocalists.

The X Factor Greece is a Greek television reality music competition, based on the original series in the UK, to find new singing talent. The winner of which receives a recording contract with Sony Music Greece is Haris Antoniou. The third series began airing on ANT1 on 1 October 2010 and ended on 11 February 2011. The show was presented by Sakis Rouvas, with Giorgos Lianos and Maria Sinatsaki hosting the audition shows. The competition is split into several stages: auditions, bootcamp, judges' houses and live shows. Auditions took place throughout July and September 2010, with George Levendis, Giorgos Theofanous, Katerina Gagaki and Nikos Mouratidis returning as judges. Following bootcamp, successful acts were split into four categories: Boys, Girls, Over-25s and Groups. The live shows started on 29 October 2010. It is also broadcast abroad via ANT1's international stations.

MAD TV Cyprus is a digital music channel and the Cypriot version of the Greek MAD TV, launched on July 1, 2011.

<i>San Ena Oniro</i> 2011 studio album by Ivi Adamou

San Ena Oniro is the first studio album by Greek Cypriot singer Ivi Adamou, released in Greece and Cyprus on 22 July 2011 by Sony Music Greece. The album was re-released as a "Euro Edition" featuring the three songs that Adamou competed with in the Cypriot national final for the Eurovision Song Contest 2012, as well as a Greek-language version of one of the songs.

Alexander "Alex P" Papaconstantinou, is a Greek-Swedish songwriter and music producer. He has worked with a number of artists including Jennifer López, Paulina Rubio, Enrique Iglesias, Antique, Elena Paparizou, Arash, Anna Vissi, Cameron Cartio, Eleni Foureira, Sarbel and Tamta. In 2011, Papaconstantinou adopted the production pseudonym Alex P and started collaborating with record producer RedOne, joined RedOne's production and 2101 songs writing team. His collaboration continued until 2014. Along with Adam Baptiste, Papaconstantinou has also been credited as a featured artist under the name "The WAV.s". Since 2017, he has been a member of the pop band VAX. Papaconstantinou has also written and co-written a number of notable songs for Eurovision Song Contest for Sarbel (Greece), Aysel and Arash (Azerbaijan), Ivi Adamou, Eleni Foureira and Tamta (Cyprus).

Stavento is a Greek Hip-Hop band from Alexandroupoli. Created in 2004 by Michalis Kouinellis, Kostas Lattas (Akritas) and Eva Kanata. Responsible for the production and the lyrics appear to be Michalis Kouinellis, nicknamed "ICU". Quickly became known because it introduced new elements into Greek hip hop scene, Juggling several times between hip hop, R&B and rock. Great success with the songs "Beautiful" and "how long". Usually the single are collaborations with other artists outside of the band like "Before I meet" with Shaya and "As the day comes the" with Ivi Adamou. They have released three albums, most recently in "Once upon a time."

Elena Paparizou & Melisses Live was a co-headlining concert tour by Greek contemporary laïka and pop singer Elena Paparizou and the Greek pop band Melisses started in Pafos, Cyprus on July 27, 2012. The acts toured 10 cities in Greece and three in Cyprus, ending in September 2012. The first solo tour for Melisses, it had been after being postponed for a week due to National Cyprus Day and to the economic crisis in Greece.

Melisses is a Greek pop-rock band that was formed in May 2008 with Christos Mastoras on lead vocals. The band has released three albums as of early 2015.

Ivi Adamou discography

Greek Cypriot singer Ivi Adamou has released two studio albums, two extended plays and 15 singles. Ivi secured a recording contract with Sony Music Greece and released her debut extended play, Kalokairi Stin Kardia, which was certified gold. In the same year she collaborated with the Spiros Lambrou Choir and released the holiday EP Christougenna Me Tin Ivi Adamou, released as Christmas with Ivi Adamou abroad.

Eurosong 2013 – a MAD show is a Greek national final, held to select the Greek entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2013.

Eleni Foureira Greek singer and dancer

Eleni Foureira is a Greek singer and dancer. She began her music career in 2007 as a member of the Greek girl group Mystique, before pursuing a solo career after the group disbanded in 2009.

Courtney Parker usually referred to simply as Courtney is an American singer and dancer that currently lives and works in Greece. She is currently signed to the Panik Records. She is known for her collaborations with Elena Paparizou, Playmen and HouseTwins at the songs "All the Time", "Breakin' Me Up", and "Rhythm Is A Dancer" respectively.

Greece participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014, held between 6 and 10 May 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Their entry was selected through Eurosong 2014 - a MAD show.

Michalis Kouinelis, also known as Stavento or Mike, is a Greek hip hop singer, member of the hip hop group Stavento.
