The 2014 CONSUR Cup was the inaugural year of the top division of Confederación Sudamericana de Rugby. Argentina are automatic seeds into the competition, with the top two teams from the 2013 South American Rugby Championship "A"; Chile and Uruguay playing alongside Los Pumas.

Argentina national rugby union team national sports team

The 2013 South American Rugby Championship Division A will double as a 2015 Rugby World Cup qualifier. The matches will be held in Montevideo, Uruguay and Temuco, Chile between 27 April and 4 May 2013.

Chile national rugby union team rugby union team

The Chile national rugby union team, nicknamed Los Cóndores, plays in red jerseys and blue shorts, and is organized by the Chilean Rugby Federation. As of 2015, Chile has not qualified for a Rugby World Cup.

Peru national rugby union team

The Peru national rugby team, nicknamed los Tumis, is an emerging team in the Americas and a member of the Confederación Sudamericana de Rugby (Consur).

The Uruguay national rugby union team, nicknamed Los Teros, is governed by the Unión de Rugby del Uruguay. One of the older test sides in the world, Uruguay has qualified three times for the Rugby World Cup, in 1999, 2003 and most recently 2015. As of March 2018 they are ranked 18th in the world, and are ranked 3rd in the Americas region, behind rivals Argentina and the United States.

The Paraguay national rugby team is governed by the Paraguayan Rugby Union. They compete regularly in the South American Rugby Championship, but have yet to qualify for the Rugby World Cup.

Brazil national rugby union team

The Brazil national rugby union team, nicknamed Tupis, is controlled by the Confederação Brasileira de Rugby. Brazil is one of the founding unions of CONSUR and played in the inaugural South American tournament. Brazil has not qualified for a Rugby World Cup, but participated in the first edition of rugby 7s in the Olympics. Brazil currently ranks 3rd in South America and 5th in the Americas region.

Pablo Lemoine Uruguayan rugby union player and coach

Pablo Adrian Lemoine is a former Uruguayan rugby union player and former head coach of the Uruguayan national rugby team and German national team. He is now the head coach of the Chilean national team.

South American Rugby Championship refers to the continental rugby championships for South America, organized by Sudamérica Rugby. The current name of the championships is South American Six Nations, implemented in 2018. Throughout history, South American Championships have also exist for lower divisions of the rugby union championships, as well as youth and women tournaments, and editions for rugby sevens.

Sudamérica Rugby

Sudamérica Rugby, known as Confederación Sudamericana de Rugby (CONSUR) between 1989 and 2015, is the governing body for rugby union within South America, and in recent years has expanded to cover most of Central America. It was created on 14 October 1989 in Montevideo on the initiative of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay.

The 2010 South American Rugby Championship was the 32nd edition of the two tiered competition of the leading national Rugby Union teams in South America.

In the Americas Region for 2015 Rugby World Cup qualifying, Argentina had automatically qualified for the World Cup, and two places were available in the Americas qualification process, which were taken by Canada and the United States. An additional Americas team, Uruguay, also qualified as the Play-off winner.

The 2014 South American Rugby Championship Division A was the first edition of the newly formatted South American Rugby Championship, that included promotion and relegation. Unlike previous years, a host country or city was not chosen, rather CONSUR opted to spread the tournament around South America. This was the first time since 1981 that Argentina did not compete due to the new format of the competition.

The 2014 South American Rugby Championship B division tournament is held at the Estadio Santiago Rambay in Apartadó, Colombia over three match days during August and September 2014. The South American Rugby Championship is organized by the Confederación Sudamericana de Rugby (CONSUR).

The 2015 South American Rugby Championship Division A was the second edition of the newly formatted South American Rugby Championship, that included promotion and relegation. 2015, continued on with CONSUR choosing not to elect a host country or city, opting to spread the tournament around South America. For Uruguay, the tournament acted as preparation matches ahead of their appearance in the 2015 Rugby World Cup, their first since 2003. In addition to this, on the 23 April, Uruguay took a week out of this tournament, to host a friendly match against the USA Select side.

The 2015 CONSUR Cup was the second year of the top division of Confederación Sudamericana de Rugby. Argentina were automatic seeds into the competition, with the top two teams from the 2014 South American Rugby Championship "A"; Paraguay and Uruguay playing alongside Los Pumas. For the second consecutive year, Argentina won the tournament, remaining as the top South American side.

The 2015 South American Junior Rugby Championship Division A is the second edition of the newly formatted South American Junior Rugby Championship for Under 19 national teams. It was held in Asunción from August 9 to August 15. The top 4 nations of South America play the tournament. The winner will play for the Junior CONSUR Cup against Argentina.

The 2014 South American Junior Rugby Championship Division A was the first edition of the newly formatted South American Junior Rugby Championship for Under 19 national teams. It was held in Montevideo from September 14 to September 20. The top 4 nations of South America play the tournament.

2016 South American Rugby Championship "A"

The 2016 South American Rugby Championship Division A was the third edition of second level of the South American Rugby Championship. The tournament was played in a round-robin format with each team playing each other team once. The two first teams won the right to compete in the top level tournament of South American Rugby Championship, called South America Rugby Cup

2016 Sudamérica Rugby Cup

The 2016 Sudamérica Rugby Cup was the third edition of the Sudamérica Rugby Cup, and its first with the current name, since CONSUR had re-branded itself as Sudamérica Rugby in July 2015. Argentina were automatically seeded and qualified for the tournament as the top ranked side in South America, while Chile and Uruguay qualified by virtue of being the top two ranked teams in the 2015 South American Rugby Championship "A".
