The 1. deild kvinnur is the top level women's football league of the Faroe Islands.
The Faroe Islands, or the Faeroe Islands, is a North Atlantic archipelago located 320 kilometres (200 mi) north-northwest of Scotland, and about halfway between Norway and Iceland. It is an autonomous territory within the Kingdom of Denmark. The islands have a total area of about 1,400 square kilometres (540 sq mi) with a population of 51,783 as of June 2019.
The league was won by KÍ, its 17th consecutive title and 18th overall. [1] By winning, KÍ qualified to 2017–18 UEFA Women's Champions League.
The 2017–18 UEFA Women's Champions League was the 17th season of the European women's club football championship organised by UEFA, and the ninth since being rebranded as the UEFA Women's Champions League.

The Faroe Islands women's national football team represents the Faroe Islands in women's association football and is controlled by the Faroe Islands Football Association (FSF), the governing body of all football in the Faroe Islands. The FSF became a member of International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) in 1988 and Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) in 1990. By population it remains the fourth smallest member of UEFA, which encompasses the countries of Europe. The women's team played their first FIFA-sanctioned international match in 1995 and have never advanced to the finals of the FIFA Women's World Cup or UEFA Women's Championship. They took part in the Island Games in 2001, 2003 and 2005 and won all three tournaments, as well as appearing at the 2010 edition of the Algarve Cup. In the Faroe Islands the team is known as the Kvinnulandsliðið.
KÍ Klaksvík Kvinnur is the women's football team of KÍ Klaksvík, a Faroese football club, based in Klaksvík and founded in 1904. The club plays in blue and white. Their stadium, Djúpumýra, has a capacity of 3,000.
Randi Skylvsdóttir Wardum is a Faroese former football goalkeeper who last played for KÍ Klaksvík in the Faroese 1. deild kvinnur. From 2004 to 2014 she represented the Faroe Islands women's national football team at senior international level. In addition to football, Wardum played handball for Kyndil.

EB/Streymur/Skála is a Faroese women's football team based in Skála and Streymnes. The team is the result of a cooperation between the women's football departments of EB/Streymur and Skála ÍF. They won the 1. deild kvinnur for the first time in 2017, ending KÍ's run of 17 consecutive titles.
B36 Tórshavn kvinnur is the women's team of B36 Tórshavn, a Faroese football club based in Tórshavn and founded in 1936. The club participate in The Faroese Womens League and plays in black and white. Their stadium, Gundadalur, has a capacity of 4,000. The women's section of B36 was created in 1985.
