The 2016 PDC Players Championship consisted of 20 darts tournaments on the 2016 PDC Pro Tour.
The prize money for the Players Championship events were increased from 2015 levels, with each event having a prize fund of £75,000, up 25% from the previous £60,000.
This is how the prize money is divided:

Dave Chisnall is an English professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He began his career in the British Darts Organisation (BDO) and was the runner-up in their World Championship in 2010. He switched to the PDC a year later where he has since reached six major TV finals and won 17 PDC ranking events. Since his switch to the PDC, Chisnall has been a staple in the top 20 of the rankings, appearing in the Premier League five times, and representing England at the PDC World Cup on three occasions.
Daryl Gurney is a Northern Irish professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. Gurney is a winner of two majors, having won the World Grand Prix in 2017 in his native Ireland, and the Players Championship Finals in 2018.
Peter Wright is a Scottish professional darts player who plays in the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC), where he is currently ranked No. 2 in the world. Nicknamed "Snakebite", he is a two-time world champion, having won the PDC World Darts Championship in 2020 and 2022. He is also a World Matchplay champion and has been ranked as the World No. 1 in the PDC twice.
Joe Cullen is an English professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He won three Youth Tour tournaments in his early career and has qualified for the PDC World Championship twelve times, winning only thrice in the first round. Cullen reached his first major quarter-final at the 2016 UK Open and won his first PDC Pro Tour title in 2017. He won his first televised title at the 2022 Masters.
Ian White, nicknamed Diamond, is an English professional darts player currently playing in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. White is the winner of 13 PDC ranking events, and has reached many quarter-finals in majors. In 2019, he reached his first major semi final.
Michael Smith is an English professional darts player. Nicknamed "Bully Boy", he plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events, where he is the reigning World Champion and World No. 1, having won the 2023 World Championship.
Benito van de Pas is a Dutch professional darts player.
Dimitri Van den Bergh is a Belgian professional darts player who currently competes in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He is a two-time World Youth Champion and the 2020 World Matchplay champion, after beating Gary Anderson 18–10 in the final, in his first time competing in the Matchplay.
Gerwyn Stephen Price is a Welsh professional darts player and former professional rugby union and rugby league player. Nicknamed "The Iceman", he competes in events of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC), where he is currently the World No. 4. He is a 3-time Grand Slam Champion and a former world champion, becoming the first ever Welshman to win the tournament. He is also a former world No. 1.
Chris Dobey is an English professional darts player currently playing in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He is the current Masters champion, winning his first televised title.
The 2016 Cash Converters Players Championship Finals was the ninth edition of the PDC darts tournament, the Players Championship Finals, which saw the top 64 players from the 20 Players Championship events of 2016 taking part, doubling the number of participants. The tournament took place at Butlin's Minehead in Minehead, England, between 25–27 November 2016.
The 2017 Unibet European Championship was the tenth edition of the Professional Darts Corporation tournament, the European Championship, which saw the top players from the twelve European tour events compete against each other. The tournament took place from 26–29 October 2017 at the Ethias Arena in Hasselt, Belgium.
The 2021 PDC World Darts Championship was the 28th World Championship organised by the Professional Darts Corporation since it separated from the British Darts Organisation. The collapse of the BDO in September 2020 and subsequent postponement of the World Darts Federation-sanctioned event meant that this edition was the first undisputed World Championship in the sport since John Lowe won the Embassy in 1993. The event took place at the Alexandra Palace in London from 15 December 2020 – 3 January 2021, and was played behind closed doors, except for the first day of the tournament, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2021 PDC Players Championship consisted of 30 darts tournaments on the 2021 PDC Pro Tour. Like with the second half of 2020, these event were grouped into Super Series events, with 8 events taking place throughout the year.
The 2020 PDC Players Championship was to consist of 30 darts tournaments on the 2020 PDC Pro Tour. However, after only 8 events had taken place, the COVID-19 pandemic decimated the schedule.
The 2019 PDC Players Championship consisted of 30 darts tournaments on the 2019 PDC Pro Tour.
The 2018 PDC Players Championship consisted of 22 darts tournaments on the 2018 PDC Pro Tour.
The 2017 UK Open Qualifiers consisted of 6 darts tournaments on the 2017 PDC Pro Tour, used to determine seedings for the 2017 UK Open.
