The 2016 Patriot League men's basketball tournament was played March 1, 3, 6 and 9 with the higher seed in each matchup hosting at their respective campus sites. The tournament champion, Holy Cross, received the League's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.

The Patriot League is a collegiate athletic conference comprising private institutions of higher education and two United States service academies based in the Northeastern United States. Except for the Ivy League, it is the most selective group of higher education institutions in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I and has a very high student-athlete graduation rate for both the NCAA graduation success rate and the federal graduation rate.
The Patriot League men's basketball tournament is held at the conclusion of each regular season. The winner of the tournament is awarded an automatic bid to the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship.
The Lafayette Leopards represent the 23 Division I varsity athletic teams of Lafayette College and compete in the Patriot League. There are 11 men's teams, 11 women's teams, and one co-ed team. The club teams also compete as the Leopards. Though not a varsity sport, crew and ice hockey are very competitive at Lafayette and play in intercollegiate club leagues.
The Bucknell Bison are the athletic teams that represent Bucknell University. The program is a member of the Patriot League for most NCAA Division I sports and Division I FCS in football.
The Holy Cross Crusaders men's basketball team represents the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts in NCAA Division I competition. The team competes in the Patriot League and plays their home games in the Hart Center. The program boasts such notable alumni as Boston Celtics legends Bob Cousy and Tom Heinsohn, and longtime Providence College basketball coach Joe Mullaney.
The West Virginia Mountaineers men's basketball team represents West Virginia University in NCAA Division I college basketball competition. They are a member of the Big 12 Conference. WVU has won 13 conference tournament championships, and has 31 appearances in the NCAA tournament, including two Final Fours, most recently in 2010. The Mountaineers have also appeared in 16 National Invitation Tournaments (NIT), and have won the tournament twice, in 1942 and 2007. The 1942 NIT Championship is claimed by West Virginia as a National Championship.
The 2008 Patriot League men's basketball tournament, a part of the 2007-08 NCAA Division I men's basketball season, took place March 5, 2008, as a single-elimination tournament, with games being played at the higher seeds' home courts. The American University Eagles won the league's regular season, and received the number one seed in the tournament. They kept their home advantage throughout the tournament and defeated Colgate, 52–46, on March 14, 2008, to win the conference tournament and received the Patriot League's automatic bid for the 2008 NCAA tournament.
The Holy Cross Crusaders are the athletic teams representing the College of the Holy Cross. They compete in NCAA Division I, primarily as members of the Patriot League. In ice hockey, a sport not sponsored by the Patriot League for either sex, the Crusaders are members of two other leagues, with men competing in the Atlantic Hockey Association and women in Hockey East. The men's rowing team is part of the Eastern Association of Rowing Colleges. Of its 27 varsity teams, Holy Cross supports 13 men's and 14 women's sports, giving Holy Cross the largest ratio of teams-per-enrollment in the country. Holy Cross's athletic teams for both men and women are known as the Crusaders.

They finished the season 15–17, 9–9 in Patriot League play to finish in fifth place. As the No. 5 seed in the Patriot League tournament, they lost in the quarterfinals to Navy.

It was played February 28, March 2, 5, and 8, 2017 with the higher seed in each matchup hosting at their respective campus sites. Bucknell defeated Lehigh, 81–65, in the championship game to win the Tournament. As a result, Bucknell received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
The 2016–17 Lehigh Mountain Hawks men's basketball team represented Lehigh University during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Mountain Hawks, led by 10th-year head coach Brett Reed, played their home games at Stabler Arena in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania as members of the Patriot League.
The 2017–18 Bucknell Bison men's basketball team represented Bucknell University during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bison, led by third-year head coach Nathan Davis, played their home games at Sojka Pavilion in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania as members of the Patriot League. They finished the season 25–10, 16–2 in Patriot League to win the Patriot League regular season championship. They defeated Loyola (MD), Boston University, and Colgate to win the Patriot League tournament championship. As a result, they received the Patriot League's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament where they lost in the first round to Michigan State.
The 2018 Patriot League men's basketball tournament was the postseason men's basketball tournament for the Patriot League for the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. It was held on February 27, March 1, 4, and 7, 2018 with the higher seed in each matchup hosting at their respective campus sites.
The 2019 Patriot League women's basketball tournament was held from March 9, 11, 14 and 17 at campus sites of the higher seed, except that both semi-final games were played at the same site of the highest seed. The winner earned an automatic trip to the NCAA women's tournament. Bucknell won the conference tournament championship game over American, 66–54. Kaitlyn Slagus was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player.
The 2020 Patriot League women's basketball tournament was the postseason women's basketball tournament for the Patriot League which was scheduled to be held from March 7 to March 15 at campus sites of the higher seed. The winner would have earned an automatic bid to the NCAA women's tournament. On March 12, the NCAA announced that the tournament was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The 2020–21 Loyola Greyhounds men's basketball team represented Loyola University Maryland in the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Greyhounds, led by third-year head coach Tavaras Hardy, played their home games at Reitz Arena in Baltimore, Maryland as members of the Patriot League. With the creation of mini-divisions to cut down on travel due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, they played in the South Division. They finished the season 6–11, 4–10 in Patriot League play to finish in last place in the South Division. In the Patriot League tournament, they advanced to the quarterfinals when Holy Cross was forced to forfeit due to COVID-19 issues. In the quarterfinals, they defeated Navy to advance to the semifinals where they defeated Army. In the championship game, they lost to Colgate.
The 2022 Patriot League men's basketball tournament was the conference postseason tournament for the Patriot League. The tournament was held on four dates during March 2022 at campus sites of the higher seeds. The winner, Colgate, received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
The 2021 Patriot League men's soccer tournament was the postseason men's soccer tournament for the Patriot League held from November 6 through November 13, 2021. The tournament was held at campus sites, with the higher seeded team hosting. The six-team single-elimination tournament consisted of three rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The defending champions were the American Eagles. They were unable to defend their crown, after losing to Loyola (MD) in the Final. The conference championship was the first for the Loyla men's soccer program, and the first for head coach Steve Nichols. As tournament champions, Loyola earned the Patriot League's automatic berth into the 2021 NCAA Division I men's soccer tournament.
The 2000–01 Holy Cross Crusaders men's basketball team represented the College of the Holy Cross during the 2000–01 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Crusaders, led by 2nd-year head coach Ralph Willard, played their home games at the Hart Center and were members of the Patriot League. They finished the season 22–8, 10–2 in Patriot League play to win the regular season league title. As the #1 seed, they defeated Lehigh and Navy to be champions of the Patriot League tournament and earn the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. Playing as the No. 14 seed in the East region, they were beaten by No. 3 seed Kentucky, 72–68.
