The 2016 V.League 1 season was the 33rd season of the V.League 1, the highest division of Football in Vietnam. The season began on 20 February 2016 and ended on 18 September 2016.
The 2016 V.League 2 was the 22nd season of V.League 2, Vietnam's second tier professional football league, which began on 9 April 2016 and ended on 20 August 2016.

The Mỹ Đình National Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Nam Từ Liêm, Hanoi (Vietnam). It has a capacity of 40,192 seats and is the centerpiece of Vietnam's National Sports Complex. If one team won both the National Cup and V.League 1 titles, then the second runner-up team of the National Cup would be qualified for the Super Cup match.
V.League 1, also called Wake Up 247 V.League 1 due to sponsorship reasons, is the top professional football league in Vietnam, controlled by the Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company. It is contested by 14 clubs who play each other on a home and away basis. The team finishing at the top at the end of the season is crowned the champion and enters the AFC Champions League.
V.League 2 or Vietnamese National Football First League,, also called LS V.League 2 for sponsorship reasons, is the second tier professional association football league in Vietnam controlled by the Vietnam Professional Football. V.League 2 has 12 teams competing in this season.
The 2012 V-League season is the 29th season of Vietnam's professional football league and started on 31 December 2011 and finished on 19 August 2012. On 15 December it was announced that the league would change name and would simply be known as the Premier League. Then, it was changed name to Super League.

The season was twice interrupted due to the Vietnam Football Federation's decision to stop the league for 4 weeks due to the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup, and then again for 7 weeks for the 29th SEA Games.
The 2018 V.League 1 season (for sponsorship reasons also known as Nuti Café V.League 1 is the 35th season of the V.League 1, the highest division of Football in Vietnam. The season started on 10 March 2018 and ran until 8 October 2018. It was expected to be known as the Toyota V.League 1, however, in December 2017 Toyota ended their sponsorship deal with the Vietnam Football Federation one year early.
