The 2016/17 NTFL season was the 96th season of the Northern Territory Football League (NTFL). [1]
The first four games in Round 1 were played on Saturday, 8 October 2016, and the Grand Final was played on Saturday 18 March 2017, with the St Marys Saints defeating Wanderers Eagles by 54 points to win their 32nd premiership title (The most titles in NTFL history). [2]

The 1900 VFL season was the fourth season of the Victorian Football League (VFL), the highest level senior Australian rules football competition in Victoria. The season featured eight clubs, ran from 5 May until 22 September, and comprised a 14-game home-and-away season followed by a finals series featuring all eight clubs.

The Darwin Football Club, nicknamed, Buffaloes, is an Australian rules football club, playing in the Northern Territory Football League. It is the third oldest football club in the Northern Territory. Darwin has won the second most premierships in the NTFL competition. It has produced a large number of Australian Footballers who went on to play professionally in the Australian Football League.

William Brian Dempsey MBE is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Darwin Football Club in the Northern Territory Football League (NTFL) and the West Perth Football Club in the Western Australian National Football League (WANFL). Dempsey is an inductee of both the AFL Northern Territory and the West Australian Football Halls of Fame. Dempsey's 341 premiership games for West Perth is second only to Mel Whinnen's 367 as a club and WAFL record.

Abbey Holmes is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Adelaide Football Club in the AFL Women's (AFLW). She began playing football for the Waratah Football Club in the Northern Territory Football League in 2012 and won four consecutive premierships with the club, along with being the league's leading goalkicker the same four seasons. In 2014, she became the first woman to kick 100 goals in a season in an established football league, and in 2016 she was drafted in the inaugural AFL Women's draft by Adelaide.

The season commenced on 25 March and concluded with the Grand Final on 18 September.
The 2022 season was the Geelong Football Club's 123rd in the Australian Football League (AFL). It was the club's twelfth season under senior coach Chris Scott, with Joel Selwood appointed as club captain for a seventh successive tear. Geelong defeated Richmond in a pre-season scratch match at GMHBA Stadium played over six periods with both senior and reserves players. The final score was Geelong 20.27 (147) vs. Richmond 21.16 (142). Geelong also competed in 2022 AAMI Community Series against Gold Coast and were defeated 13.17 (95) vs. Geelong's 11.6 (72). Geelong's home-and-away season began on 19 March against Essendon at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Geelong finished the home-and-away season with eighteen wins, and four losses, finishing on top of the league ladder, and qualifying for the 2022 finals series as a result. Geelong's qualifying final will be played against Collingwood at the MCG on 3 September.
