History
The Palmerston Magpies Football Club began in 1970 and was originally known as the Internationals. At that time most players were English and Greek soccer players. John O'Donoghue and Paul Fricker got the started with John doing the ground work while Paul represented the club at NTFL meetings. In 1971, the club was informed by the NTFL executive to field three teams and to change its name to a more suitable football name, hence Nth Darwin was born.
In 1972 club was renamed North Darwin Football Club, with the club winning a premiership in 1980/81 under the leadership of Coach Ian Smith and Captain John Stokes (father of AFL footballer Mathew Stokes). North Darwin Football Club moved to Palmerston in the 1995/1996 season and became the Palmerston Magpies Incorporated the following season, at which time the club moved to Palmerston to play home games for 1 season at Archer Oval. Following a move back to Marrara as our home ground, the club played in 4 grand finals 1999/2000 to 2002/2003 and won 2 premierships in 2000/2001 and 2001/2002.
Palmerston Magpies is the only club in the NTFL that represents its own City. The City of Palmerston is located 21 km south of Darwin. The Magpies home ground is the Cazalys Oval, a $2 million facility located at Charles Darwin University Palmerston Campus.
The club has produced players for the AFL such as Aaron Davey, Alwyn Davey, Trent Hentschel, and Mathew Stokes.
Port Adelaide Football Club is a professional Australian rules football club based in Alberton, South Australia. The club's senior men's team plays in the Australian Football League (AFL), where they are nicknamed the Power, whilst its reserves men's team competes in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL), where they are nicknamed the Magpies. Since its founding, the club has won an unequalled 36 SANFL premierships and 4 Championship of Australia titles, in addition to an AFL Premiership in 2004. It has also fielded a women's team in the AFL Women's (AFLW) league since 2022.
The Brisbane Football Club, nicknamed the Bears, was a professional Australian rules football club based in Queensland on the Gold Coast. The club participated in the Victorian/Australian Football League (VFL/AFL) between 1987 and 1996, and entered the league as the first of two non-Victorian expansion teams. It was the first privately owned club in the league's history. Its mascot was a koala and its main colours were maroon and gold.
South Fremantle Football Club is an Australian rules football club based in Fremantle, Western Australia. The club plays in the Western Australian Football League (WAFL) and the WAFL Women's (WAFLW), commonly going by the nickname the Bulldogs. Since its founding, the club has won 14 WAFL premierships, the most recent of them in 2020.
The Coburg Football Club, nicknamed the Coburg Lions, is an Australian rules football club based in Coburg, a northern suburb of Melbourne, and currently playing in the Victorian Football League (VFL). It is based at Coburg City Oval since 1915, which was partly redeveloped in 2020. Coburg has historically been a proud club and has won 6 VFA/VFL premierships with the most recent premiership in 1989. From 2001 to 2013 the club was aligned with the Richmond Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL), acting as its reserves team. As of 2014, Coburg is a stand-alone club in the Victorian Football League (VFL).

Mathew Stokes is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played with the Geelong Football Club and the Essendon Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL).
The VU Western Spurs are a Women's Australian rules football club who compete in the Northern Football League (Australia) and the AFL Masters Victoria competition. Dempsey is an inductee of both the AFL Northern Territory and the West Australian Football Halls of Fame. Dempsey's 341 premiership games for West Perth is second only to Mel Whinnen's 367 as a club and WAFL record.

In 2014, she became the first woman to kick 100 goals in a season in an established football league, and in 2016 she was drafted in the inaugural AFL Women's draft by Adelaide.
