The 2017 Liga 3 West Nusa Tenggara is the third edition of Liga 3 West Nusa Tenggara as a qualifying round for the 2017 Liga 3.
Liga 3 is the lowest tier in Indonesian football league system. Liga 3 also the only amateur league in Indonesia. Formed as Liga Nusantara in 2014, this league occupies the third tier and consisted of 2 rounds: provincial qualification—held in every provinces in Indonesia, and national round, competed by provincial qualifiers.
West Nusa Tenggara is a province of Indonesia. It comprises the western portion of the Lesser Sunda Islands, with the exception of Bali which is its own province. Mataram, on Lombok, is the capital and largest city of the province. The 2010 census recorded the population at 4,496,855; the latest estimate is 4,702,389. The province's area is 19,708.79 km2. The two largest islands in the province are Lombok in the west and the larger Sumbawa island in the east. The islands of Flores and Sumba are part of East Nusa Tenggara.
The 2017 Liga 3 Indonesia season was the 3rd season of lower-tier and the inaugural season of the third-tier competition in Indonesia with the new name Liga 3.

Lombok is an island in West Nusa Tenggara province, Indonesia. It forms part of the chain of the Lesser Sunda Islands, with the Lombok Strait separating it from Bali to the west and the Alas Strait between it and Sumbawa to the east. It is roughly circular, with a "tail" to the southwest, about 70 kilometres across and a total area of about 4,514 square kilometres. The provincial capital and largest city on the island is Mataram.
Sumbawa is an Indonesian island, located in the middle of the Lesser Sunda Islands chain, with Lombok to the west, Flores to the east, and Sumba further to the southeast. Along with Lombok, it is part of the province of West Nusa Tenggara, but there has been talk by the Indonesian government of turning the island into a separate province. Traditionally, the island is known as the source of sappanwood, as well as honey and sandalwood. Its savanna-like climate and vast grasslands are used to breed horses and cattle, as well as to hunt deer.
East Nusa Tenggara is the southernmost province of Indonesia. It comprises the eastern portion of the Lesser Sunda Islands, facing the Indian Ocean in the south and the Flores Sea in the north. It consists of more than 500 islands, with the largest ones being Sumba, Flores, and the western part of Timor; the latter shares a land border with the separate nation of East Timor. The province was sub-divided into 21 regencies and the regency-level city of Kupang, which is the capital and largest city.

The mine is located 1,530 kilometres (950 mi) east of the Indonesian capital Jakarta on Sumbawa, in southern Taliwang Regency, an island in West Nusa Tenggara. Mandalika is an under-construction integrated resort area in the island of Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. It is designated as a Special Economic Zone (KEK) on Mandalika Beach, which stretches over 1,175 hectares land, from the edge of Kuta (Lombok) the south coast of Lombok, along the coastline towards surfing spot Grupuk village of Central Lombok Regency. Mandalika is 15 km straight from Lombok International Airport. It was inaugurated by Indonesian President Joko Widodo on 20 October 2017.

A Mw 6.4 earthquake struck the island of Lombok on the morning of 29 July 2018 at a shallow depth of 14 km (8.7 mi). Widespread damage was reported in the area, and authorities confirmed that 20 people were killed in the earthquake while hundreds were injured.
