The 2017 Men's Hockey Africa Cup of Nations was the tenth edition of the Men's Hockey Africa Cup of Nations, the quadrennial international men's field hockey championship of Africa organised by the African Hockey Federation. It was held in Ismailia, Egypt from 22 to 29 October 2017.

Contents

Zambia withdrew before the tournament. [1] [2] The winner qualified for the 2018 Men's Hockey World Cup. [3]

The six-time defending champions South Africa won their seventh title. [4]

Just like in 2004, the field of sixteen teams was split into four groups of four. Egypt won its fifth championship, beating Ivory Coast in the final 4–2 in a penalty shootout after a goalless draw.

2008 Africa Cup of Nations International football competition

The 2008 Africa Cup of Nations, also known as the MTN Africa Cup of Nations due to the competition's sponsorship by MTN, was the 26th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, the biennial football tournament for nations affiliated to the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The tournament was staged at four venues around Ghana between 20 January and 10 February 2008. This was the last Africa Cup of Nations to use the old CAF logo.

2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup International football competition

The 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup was the 17th edition of the FIFA U-20 World Cup which was hosted by Egypt from 24 September to 16 October 2009. The tournament was initially going to take place between 10 and 31 July, however the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup was played mid year resulting in both the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup and the FIFA U-17 World Cup being played towards the end of the year. The cup was won by Ghana after they defeated Brazil on penalties in the final, becoming the first African team to have won the tournament.

Ismaily SC Egyptian football club

Ismaily Sporting Club is an Egyptian professional football club, established on 20 March 1921 as El Nahda Sporting Club, based in Ismaïlia, Egypt. The club is best known for its football team. Also it's considered as an Egyptian National Club, where they helped the famous local tour of duty to play for the benefit of the homeland against the occupying armies. The club's nickname The Brazilians, is a reference to their uniforms, which echo those of the Brazil national team, and similar style of play.

The 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, known as the Total2019 Africa Cup of Nations for sponsorship reasons, was the 32nd edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, the biennial international men's football championship of Africa organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The tournament was hosted by Egypt. The competition was held from 21 June to 19 July 2019, as per the decision of the CAF Executive Committee on 20 July 2017 to move the Africa Cup of Nations from January/February to June/July for the first time. It was also the first Africa Cup of Nations expanded from 16 to 24 teams.
