The 2017 Men's U23 African Volleyball Championship was the 2nd edition of the Men's U23 African Volleyball Championship, it was held in Algiers, Algeria from 20 to 22 February 2017. The winners Algeria qualified for the 2017 FIVB Volleyball Men's U23 World Championship. [1]

Participated teams

After the cancellation of the 2016 edition in Durban, South Africa, the tournament, held at the last minute by the African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB), brought together only two countries, Algeria and Mauritius.

Koceila Julien Mammeri is a badminton player from Algeria who trained at the Oullins club in France. In the junior event, he was the third place at the Portugal International tournament in the boys' doubles event. He won gold medals at the 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 African Championships for men's doubles with his partner Youcef Sabri Medel, and in 2018 and 2019 for mixed doubles with Linda Mazri, and also in 2021 and 2022 for mixed doubles with Tanina Mammeri. Together with Mazri, he claimed the gold medal at the 2019 African Games.

On 17 August, judo events began two days before the opening ceremony on the first day, Algeria achieved 9 medals, including two gold medals by Wail Ezzine in weight 66 kg and Faïza Aissahine in weight 52 kg. The 2014 Women's U23 African Volleyball Championship was the 1st edition of the Women's U23 African Volleyball Championship, it was held 7 to 9 September 2014 in Algiers, Algeria. It was the inaugural edition of the tournament. The tournament was organized by the African Volleyball Confederation, in association with Algerian Volleyball Federation.
