The Hong Kong national cricket team is the team that represents Hong Kong in international competition. It played its first match in 1866 and has been an associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) since 1969.
The South Korea national cricket team is the team that represents South Korea in international cricket. It is governed by the Korea Cricket Association, which became an affiliate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2001 and an associate member in June 2017. Their first international appearance to date was in the ICC East Asia/Pacific 8s tournament in Perth in 2002, where they came fourth in a tournament that also involved Japan, Indonesia and an Australian Aborigines team. They also competed in 2011 east Asia Pacific tournament.
The Hong Kong women's national cricket team is the team that represents the Chinese special administrative region of Hong Kong in international women's cricket. In April 2018, the International Cricket Council (ICC) granted full Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) status to all its members. Therefore, all Twenty20 matches played between Hong Kong women and other ICC members after 1 July 2018 will be a full WT20I. Hong Kong made its Twenty20 International debut against Indonesia on 12 January 2019 at Bangkok during the Thailand Women's T20 Smash.

There are also some traditional sports that are popular in certain regions of Asia, such as the traditional South Asian sports of kabaddi and kho-kho. Top sporting nations/regions in Asia include China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, India, Iran, Pakistan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
Rugby union in China is a growing sport; however, it is still not overly popular. China became affiliated to the International Rugby Board in 1997 and as of 1 July 2019, its women's XV side was ranked 24th and its men's XV side 80th in the world. Neither the women's team nor the men's team has yet qualified for a Women's Rugby World Cup or a men's Rugby World Cup. However, China has hopes of one day hosting the men's event, and World Rugby has indicated it supports taking the event there.
The Pakistan national baseball team is the national team representing Pakistan in international baseball tournaments and competitions. The team is controlled and governed by the Pakistan Federation Baseball, which is represented in the Baseball Federation of Asia (BFA), having been ranked #5 in Asia, just behind China. They are ranked as the top and one of the most successful baseball teams in South Asia, winning the first SAARC Baseball Championship 8–2 against Sri Lanka in 2011. As of 2023, Pakistan is currently ranked 38th in the world by the World Baseball Softball Confederation.
The 28th 2017 Asian Baseball Championship was the international baseball competition for Asian men's national teams. It was held in Taipei and New Taipei, Taiwan on October 2–8, 2017. It was the 28th edition of the tournament.
The 2018 Women's Baseball World Cup was the 8th edition of the WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup, the biennial international women's baseball world championship tournament. The competition was held in Viera, Florida in the United States from August 22 to August 31, 2018. The 2018 tournament was the first time that the United States hosted the event.
Hong Kong competed at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia, from 18 August to 2 September 2018. Hong Kong made its debut at the Asian Games in 1954 Manila, and the best achievement for the territory was in 2010 Asian Games held in neighboring Guangzhou, finishing with 8 gold, 15 silver and 17 bronze medals totaling 40 medals. At the previous edition in held 4 years later in Incheon, the total number of medals increased to 42, but the number of gold medals fell to 6, In Indonesia the performance of local athletes was satisfactory, improving the results obtained in 2010 and 2014 with 46 medals achieving the best results at the games.

More medals were won at the 2020 Summer Olympics by athletes representing Hong Kong than ever before, and Hong Kong also won its first gold medal since the handover back to China.
The 2019 Women's East Asia Cup was a Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) cricket tournament, which was held in South Korea in September 2019. All of the matches were played at the Yeonhui Cricket Ground in Incheon, where a round-robin series was followed by a final and a third-place play-off.
The 29th Asian Baseball Championship was the international baseball competition for Asian men's national teams. It was held in Taichung and Yunlin, Taiwan, on October 14 to 20, 2019. Chinese Taipei and China, the top two finishers, excluding Japan, qualified to compete in the Olympic Final Qualifying Tournament which will take place in March or April 2020.

The 2019 Women's Baseball Asian Cup is the second edition of the Women's Baseball Asian Cup. It was held at the 3,000-capacity Panda Memorial Stadium in Zhongshan, Guangdong, China from 9 to 15 November 2017. This is the first tournament which adopts a super round with the eight participating teams divided into two groups in the opening round. Host China, and the Philippines made their debut in competitive baseball in the tournament.
The 2018 East Asia Cup was a Twenty20 (T20) cricket tournament, which was held in Hong Kong in September 2018. Matches were played at the Mission Road Ground in Mong Kok and the Hong Kong Cricket Club in Wong Nai, where a round-robin series was followed by a final. Kowloon Cricket Club was originally scheduled to host the final and a third-place play-off on 16 September, but the final was moved to the previous and played at the Mission Road Ground due to the expected arrival of Typhoon Mangkhut.

The venues for the round-robin stage matches were the Hong Kong Cricket Club in Wong Nai, and the Mission Road Ground in Mong Kok. The tournament was completed with the final and third-place play-off, which were played at the Kowloon Cricket Club.
The 2022 Women's East Asia Cup was a Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) cricket tournament held in Kaizuka, Osaka, Japan in October 2022. This was the fourth edition of the women's East Asia Cup, and was originally scheduled to involve the same teams as in all previous editions, namely China, Hong Kong, Japan and South Korea. China and South Korea both withdrew from this year's tournament, and so Japan and Hong Kong played a four-match series to determine the winner. The four member countries signed an agreement in 2021 to make the women's East Asia Cup an annual event, but the 2021 event was cancelled due to COVID-19. China won the previous tournament in 2019.
