2017 Women's Basketball Invitational

The 2017 Women's Basketball Invitational (WBI) is a single-elimination tournament of 16 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I teams that did not participate in the 2017 NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Tournament or 2017 Women's National Invitation Tournament. The 2017 field was announced on March 13. First round WBI games took place on March 15 and 16; second-round games were played March 18 and March 19. The tournament semifinals were held March 23 with the 2017 WBI Championship game played the final weekend of March. Rice won the WBI for the first time ever, beating UNC Greensboro 74-62. [1]

The Texas–Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros women's basketball team is the intercollegiate women's basketball program representing the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. The 2019 NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Tournament was a single-elimination tournament of 64 teams to determine the national champion for the 2018–19 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The 38th annual edition of the tournament began on March 22, and concluded with the championship game on April 7 at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, with the University of South Florida serving as host. The tournament field was announced on March 18.

2018–19 North Alabama Lions womens basketball team Intercollegiate basketball season

The 2018–19 North Alabama Lions women's basketball team represented University of North Alabama during the 2018–19 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. They were led by head coach Missy Tiber in her sixth season at North Alabama. The Lions played their home games at the Flowers Hall in Florence, Alabama as members of the Atlantic Sun Conference.

The 2015–16 Louisiana–Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns women's basketball team represented the University of Louisiana at Lafayette during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Ragin' Cajuns were led by fourth-year head coach Garry Brodhead and played all their home games at the Cajundome with a select few at Earl K. Long Gymnasium, which is located on the University of Louisiana at Lafayette campus. They were members in the Sun Belt Conference. They finished the season 25-10, 13–7 in Sun Belt play to finish in third place. They advanced to the semifinal game of the Sun Belt Women's Tournament where they lost to Little Rock by the score of 52-63. They competed in the Women's Basketball Invitational and went to the championship game, winning by the score of 87-85 in two overtimes against the Weber State Wildcats

The 2019 field was announced on March 18. First round WBI games took place on March 20 and 21; second-round games were played on March 25 and 26. The tournament semifinals were held March 29 and 30, and the 2019 WBI Championship game was held on April 3. Appalachian State defeated North Texas to win their second WBI championship.

The 2020 Women's Basketball Invitational (WBI) was to be a single-elimination tournament consisting of 16 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I teams that would not participate in the 2020 NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Tournament or 2020 Women's National Invitation Tournament. The 2020 field was to be announced on March 16. First round WBI games were to occur on March 18 and 19; second-round games were to be played on March 22 and 23. The tournament semifinals were to be held March 27 and 28, and the 2019 WBI Championship game was to be held on March 31 or April 1.

The 2021 Women's Basketball Invitational (WBI) was a single-elimination tournament consisting of eight National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I teams that were not selected to participate in the 2021 NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Tournament or 2021 Women's National Invitation Tournament. The 2021 field was announced on March 15. The tournament was held March 19–21 at the William Exum Center on the campus of Kentucky State University in Frankfort, Kentucky. The format was an 8-team tournament with a winners and consolation bracket, guaranteeing all participating teams three games. Cleveland State beat Portland in the final.
