Lolo Letalu Matalasi Moliga is an American Samoan politician, former educator, businessman, and former President of the Development Bank of American Samoa (DBAS) from 2009 to 2012. Moliga was elected Governor of American Samoa in the 2012 gubernatorial election.
The government of American Samoa consists of a locally elected governor, lieutenant governor and the American Samoa Fono, which consists of an 18-member Senate and a 21-member House of Representatives. The first popular election for Governor and Lieutenant Governor took place in 1977. Candidates for the offices run together on a joint ticket.
Lemanu Palepoi Sialega Mauga is an American Samoan politician. Mauga is the current Lieutenant Governor of American Samoa. Mauga served as Senator in the American Samoa Senate, where he became the Chairman of both the Budget and Appropriations Committee and the Senate Homeland Security Committee.

Eni Fa'aua'a Hunkin Faleomavaega Jr. was an American Samoan politician who served as the territory's lieutenant governor and congressional delegate.

Politics of American Samoa takes place in a framework of a presidential representative democratic dependency, whereby the Governor is the head of government, and of a pluriform multi-party system. American Samoa is an unincorporated and unorganized territory of the United States, administered by the Office of Insular Affairs, U.S. Department of the Interior. Its constitution was ratified 1966 and came into effect 1967. Executive power is discharged by the governor and the lieutenant governor. The 2008 American Samoa gubernatorial election took place on November 4, 2008, coinciding with the 2008 United States general elections and the American Samoa general election. Because no candidate received more than 50% of the vote, a runoff election between the top two candidates was held on November 18, 2008, which Togiola Tulafono won. All elections in American Samoa are officially non-partisan, but Tulafono and Sunia identify with the Democratic Party.

Owen Stuart Aspinall was an American attorney and politician who served as the 45th Governor of American Samoa from August 1, 1967, to July 31, 1969. He was born in Grand Junction, Colorado; his father was longtime United States Representative Wayne N. Aspinall. After serving in the United States Army during World War II, Aspinall earned his Bachelor of Laws from American University. He served in three government positions before becoming the Governor of American Samoa: the Deputy District Attorney of Mesa County, Colorado; Attorney General of American Samoa; and eventually Secretary of American Samoa, the islands' equivalent of a lieutenant governor.
General elections were held in American Samoa on 6 November 2012, alongside a referendum on giving the Fono veto power over the Governor. Voters chose a new Governor and Lieutenant Governor, twenty members for the American Samoa House of Representatives, and the Delegate to United States House of Representatives. Incumbent Governor Togiola Tulafono was term-limited and could not seek re-election.

The non-voting delegate to the United States House of Representatives is elected for two-year terms; the winner, incumbent Rep. Eni Faleomavaega of the Democratic Party, will serve in the 113th Congress from January 3, 2013 until January 3, 2015. Faleomavaega has held the seat since 1989.
Salu Hunkin-Finau, Ed.D, is an American Samoan educator, politician, and academic administrator. She is the former president of American Samoa Community College. In February 2012, Hunkin announced her candidacy for Governor of American Samoa in the November 2012 gubernatorial election, becoming the first female candidate for governor since 2000.
The Virginia lieutenant gubernatorial election of 2017 was held on November 7, 2017. After the party primary elections were held, the major party nominees were Jill Vogel (Republican) and Justin Fairfax (Democrat). The incumbent Lieutenant Governor, Democrat Ralph Northam, declined to run for re-election in order to run for Governor. In the general election on November 7, 2017, Democratic nominee Justin Fairfax defeated Republican state Senator Jill Vogel to become the 41st lieutenant-governor of Virginia.
The 2016 United States House of Representatives election in American Samoa was held on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, to elect the non-voting Delegate to the United States House of Representatives from American Samoa's at-large congressional district. The election coincided with the elections of other federal and state offices, including the larger American Samoa general election, as well as the nationwide 2016 United States House of Representatives elections and the 2016 United States general elections.
