In August 2017, the Official World Golf Ranking announced that all Big Easy Tour events would be awarded points, beginning with the Big Easy Challenge 1. [1]

The Order of Merit was based on prize money won during the season, calculated in South African rand. [3] The top 10 players on the Order of Merit earned status to play on the 2019–20 Sunshine Tour. [4]

  1. The number in brackets after each winner's name is the number of Big Easy Tour events they had won up to and including that tournament. It is rare for someone to accumulate many wins on the Big Easy Tour as success at this level usually leads to promotion to the Sunshine Tour.

For much of its early history it was known either as the Southern Africa Tour or Sunshine Circuit; through sponsorship deals, it has also been known as the Vodacom Tour and the FNB Tour.
